The below review will be important for anyone with Gluten allergy or Celiac disease
Bill Number:398 bought from Pep Mall Deli Tadka.
Firstly the food is good and the other reviews are a testament to this.
My experience today was a bit off and I am writing this review hoping the owners/resources get a chance to read it. Guys, PLEASE TAKE A MOMENT FOR YOUR CUSTOMERS. Your food is good, just improve the customer care side of things.
First the fun stuff. Gluten. I am not sure if you understand how bad Gluten can affect people with allergies and hopefully, I can do justice to what I want to share with the team and hopefully I am not giving out any trade secrets here. I did try to talk to you guys 3 times today to explain this, that too in Hindi and English so that the message comes over correctly. But like I have mentioned above, you need to learn to listen. Please check the Allergens marks for Chicken Tikka. it only lists Milk and its products. but the sauce that you serve with it has gluten-specific products added (info I received from the counter after asking several times). when I order the dish, I am not asking what is the allergens in the main item in the dish, I am asking about the dish as a whole. My mom is allergic to gluten and has had an episode of Anaphyletic shock before because of gluten in food from another restaurant. Since then we have been extra carefull on the dish we buy for her. it took me 3 attempts to get this info out that not only the sauce but also the chicken is fried in that same sauce in the end. That at least for me is not acceptable. I adore your brand and the food you make, but until I feel you would see us as customers rather than the next euro, I wouldn't be ordering from deli tadka. Just think, someone who has this allergy, orders this dish and gets allergic reactions. Wouldnt it open up your franchise to legal problems? And all you need to do is mention that such allergens are there.
Today you had the Biriyani special.. and we ordered it... Unfortunately, the code you seem to be using for biriyani is Mango, Lamm.. (p.s. I did explicitly ask why did you key in Mango lamm instead of biriyani which was when you asked the head chef and confirmed biriyani comes in 15 min)... Guess what, the kitchen doesn't know this code :) and they gave me mango lamm.. it's fine, mistakes happen, and I can understand that.
Hopefully i am not too rude with this message. That is not...
Read moreThe food was okay. Although a lot of people saying that it is very delicious, I didn’t like it much. I tried “Pani puri” (Indian name) which is served as hollow crisps with chickpeas to be eaten with mint water and tamarind pulp. On a scale of 10 I will give it a 3.
Then I tested “Chickpeas Masala”. It is neither spicy nor sweet, comes with different types of sauces as topping and a smashed lentil kebab inside. The kebab however was tasty. I would score it as a 4.5 out of 10.
After that I had “Pav Bhaji”, small burger buns with vegetable curry. I would rate it as a 3.5 out of 10.
Speaking of drinks, I only had “Mango Lassi” which was not bad. It is just the regular powder drinks not with real mango pulp or fresh juice.
Now let’s come to cleanliness and environment. The shop is clean and the staffs behave nicely. One can have a quick snacks with family and friends in their way back...
Read moreEdit June 2022: this place is still stuck in 1950s. EC cards are almost abgeschafft and they only accept this old technology. Terrible.
Edit Sept 2021: Amid pandemic, the place still only accepts cash money and some old technology no-one uses (EC Cards). Wrote emails about this. No action taken.
Edit after Owner reply: I will try to come if I am able to pay! If I still have to use cash or any obscure outdated tech like EC, I will not order anything. Thanks.
Edit 2 (December 2020):Can I finally pay with my card? I use Google Pay connected to PayPal and my german N26 mastercard. Please, Electronic Cash is dinosaur technology, I don't have this.
+food good +personal friendly +place is clean
-Really really need to innovate on modern payment technologies. They only accept outdated cash and EC cards (which by now is outdated). No Google Pay, no credit cards.. Very difficult to pay...
