We are Australians on the final night of our European vacation. We discovered Wirtshau Eder on a Google Maps search. Our hotel was at Hirschgarten so it was close by trip using #62 bus.

At the restaurant we were greeted by Viktoria, a delightful young lady who spoke good English. She helped us through the menu of tasty food which was on offer. Even though the weather was a little cold, we chose to sit at outside tables. Very pleasant, relaxed atmosphere.

We had simple, local dishes like beef goulash with dumpling and roasted pork pieces with potatoes and onion. Desert was the warm chocolate cake in a mix of berry sauces, cream and, ice cream with some walnuts.

This was a perfect end to our four week trip through Europe. We recommend to anyone who lives close by in Munich or who is passing through to dine at Wirtshaus Eder. You will eat well. And if lucky, Viktoria may be there...

A cozy Bavarian Wirtshaus offering delicious, hearty food with a concise, meat-heavy menu complemented by 2-3 vegetarian options and a fish dish.

The Fleischpflanzerl were juicy and perfectly seasoned. The pretzel dumpling had a great consistency and was ideal for soaking up the creamy mushroom sauce it was paired with. The standout dish was the fire-smoked salmon, which had a rich smoky aroma and warm, earthy flavors - truly memorable.

The restaurant was bustling and fully booked, and unfortunately the service didn't seem quite able to cope. Drinks took 30 minutes to arrive despite being asked for our order multiple times by different servers. The food, though, was served promptly after ordering.

Overall, a great spot for authentic Bavarian cuisine, but be prepared for a potential wait...

Your go-to neighborhood Wirtshaus with a refreshing modern touch. The food they offer is top notch and presented in an appealing manner without being overly decorated with nothing to show for. Even though the vegetarian options are limited they are solid and definitely above average Bavarian standards. There's ever changing beer on the second tap which makes for tasty surprises and gives you another solid reason to come back regularly. Staff-wise Eder has a bunch of lovely and competent people that take excellent care of you. Overall a great place to meet friends for a beer, some proper food, a good time and to leave happier than...

A local place that we happened to stumbled upon. Very cozy atmosphere, and you can tell most people there are frequent customers by the vibe. The wait staffs are super friendly and nice, always smiling and eager to help out. We tried the classic Bavarian food - i had the schweinebraten which is pig with very crunchy skin, eaten with potato dumpling and gravy, while my friend had the 2 wurst and classic Germany pickled salad. They are sooo sooo delicious, and you can tell it's local and homey and on point. This is such a precious little place with good food and good people and you feel right at home with the locals. So nice.
