I recently visited the Mexican restaurant Zapata located in a lovely part of Munich. The restaurant's spacious layout and attractive decor immediately caught my attention, and I was excited to try out their menu. Unfortunately, my experience with the food was very disappointing. We ordered a variety of dishes with different types of meat and appetizers, but everything tasted like it had been pre-made and heated up. The taste of the fridge was evident in every dish, which detracted from the overall flavor. Even the chicken dish was pre-cooked and reheated, which was not appetizing. The tortillas looked old and stale, and the mozzarella sticks were identical to the ones available at Lidl for a fraction of the cost, yet we paid 8 euros for them. The most frustrating part was the exorbitant price we paid for such low-quality food. Given the cost of the dishes, we expected a much better quality of food. Unfortunately, the food was so poor that it ruined the entire experience. Overall, I cannot recommend Zapata. Despite the attractive decor and prime location, the quality of the food did not meet expectations. The prices charged for such poor quality food are unacceptable, and I would advise others to avoid this restaurant. My experience at Zapata was very disappointing, and I would not consider dining there again.

We visited the restaurant durning happy hour and the first thing we were drawn to was the fun ambience of the place. Service was wonderful, our server was very attentive to our needs. We stayed for a few hours and then the restaurant started to fill up. Definitely can tell this place is a local favorite. Cocktails were very good, have to say after visiting several Mexican restaurants in Munich, the classic margarita was delicious and served up the way I prefer…with ice and good salt around the rim. PERFECT! As for the food, it was good. I had to taquitos which appeared to look more like flautas, they were a little too brown for my liking but I did enjoy the accompaniments with my dinner. I would definitely recommend this restaurant as I felt the prices were very reasonable and would absolutely visit again.

Zapata has a nice atmosphere including Mexican vibes. However, when it comes to service, we had to wait for 40-50 minutes. In addition to that the food was nice and tasty but it is not like I would come here again and again. I had enchilada and the ingredients were a bit unsalted. That's why the taste was weaker. The shrimp sticks were tasty and the sauce was tastier than the shrimp sticks. In the end, the waiter had a weird attitude by asking for cash only. It is not written and it is not a rule. We had to pay everything together via card instead of having it separated.

Quite and informal place, with some bit of Mexican atmosphere. Overall ok for couples and families. Negative to my expectations the overall quality of the food. Found not great the results both in terms of flavours and quality of the ingredients (I took a grilled stake, I asked well koocked and was not, and was quite hard and chewing... not really a great selection from whatever butcher was coming from!). Service simple but OK for the overall context. Negative it took 40 minutes to have our main courses with a restaurant not really full of people. I got my stake then before the starter I ordered too, so I had to ask to cancel it as now too late and I had in front of me the stake... Last Negative experience was: we were all 4 seating with our drinks waiting for the starters etc. And a waitress come to us to ask to change table as that one we were given was reserved to some others who specifically requested for that. I reply that we were staying there and was up to them to sort out their mistake with the other customers. I also explained to the waitress that it is a type of request that in a restaurant even basic like that must never be done to already seated customers. The low professional attitude of this lady was more evident when she attempted to convince me to the move. The as I got more upset she left and we stayed at that table. At the end I directly complained to the responsible person about this situation happened and he was polite and excused for the fact. This was positive. Overall with my family we agreed all that overall was a not too terrible experience but we have no plans to return. Maybe we were...
