Really enjoyed this place. Yes it’s very simple in that you order at the counter, collect your own food and drinks and clear your plates away at the end. It’s just a different setup that they have which is great as it’s not the same old Bavarian restaurant. It’s a small restaurant but we got there early to avoid having to wait. The decor is cool, random stuff and I like the snowboard benches. The menu isn’t huge but what more do you need than burritos, quesadillas, tacos and nachos! You choose your main filling, meat or vegan and then the different styles come with a variety of other fillings... easy. I had the chicken quesadilla and my wife had the chicken burrito. We both really enjoyed them. They had a lovely smokiness to the chicken and you can’t go wrong with gooey cheese. The service was good and the guy serving us was friendly. We would go again. They take credit card too.

Hailing from San Diego we were hoping to find a taste of home and we…..almost…..found it at Nate’s. At least there were hints of it in the corn tortillas and salsa. The meat dishes tasted more like they all had taco seasoning on them but the nopales were excellent and the serving of nachos was plenty with lots of toppings. The guy behind the counter wouldn’t do himself any harm if he was just a touch more friendly instead of the cool cat attitude tbh and what’s with the ultra loud music? I mean I really enjoyed hearing some 80s rap but I also like to have a conversation while I’m eating…you know….talk about which taco we will try next and ‘what do you think about the salsa?’….maybe that’s just me. Maybe we will be back when we have a craving for ‘almost authentic’ west coast Mexican food!

Young, Hip, Funky Restaurant. Never seen such a restuarant in Nürnberg. So many little surprises like waiting cards with names - Robocop, Indiana Jones etc, Small games on the Tables, Skating board seats. Self service restaurant - The guy taking the orders was speaking only English ( My husband was very happy with it ) Menu is small but good options. Quite good portions for the money. Tofu version is available for each menu item. I felt the cheese was a bit much in the nachos. Next time, I would try ordering Vegan. We would definitely visit again as we loved the ambience.

The only reason this place gets 3 stars is because the tacos were actually pretty okay.. yes 'pretty OKAY' the place is far from great. I will start by saying that this certainly is not Mexican food. It isn't even 'Cali Mex' but whatever. The food is way overpriced for the quality. 9€ for a small burrito that was again.. just okay. The tacos however were the stars of the show. We ordered 2 pork, 1 chicken and 1 beef. Don't get the beef, it was tough and so extremely greasy. The chicken was a bit dry, but fine. The pork was the best. We ordered a chicken quesadilla for my daughter and it was soggy and gross. The salsas were actually very good. But i definitely don't choose were I'll eat based on the salsa. The drinks.. the main reason I opted for Mexican food was because of my yearning for a Margarita. IT WAS GOD AWFUL I COULD NOT STOMACH IT! Not even strong (and i love strong.) I can't even explain what was off about it. But something was just .. ew. It was terrible. Honestly, I wouldn't mind coming back for the pork tacos. The tortillas made the taco for me. The meats definitely could have been better, but I wouldn't mind if someone who liked it wanted to go. My husband on the other hand hated our experience and says he refuses to go back. We went at noon when they opened and the waitress seemed annoyed because she was in the middle of eating when we got there and she had to stop to do her job. I was also a little irritated that i couldn't get a side of sauce for my burrito. Whatever. That's my review. 3 stars and we probably won't go back. (Btw.. we are a Mexican family. We love authentic Mexican cuisine. So what we expect from a 'Mexican' restaurant may be...

Amazing! It was a little piece of home (California). The place is full of skating and snowboarding decoration which I think helps add to the home feeling. We took a taxi to the restaurant from our hotel. At first I thought that it was the wrong address since the taxi came through a neighborhood, but sure enough it was on the corner. Now I'm just envious of the people that live nearby.

Food selection is awesome and there should be an item for everyone (burritos, tacos, quesadillas, nachos, and a bunch more). My favorite are the tacos. The corn tortilla and salsa makes the taco! To complete your order make sure you get guac and chips. If you don't, you'll probably find yourself in line for them later ;) They have a salsa bar where you can get some house made stuff to top off your meal (the chipotle mixed with the spicy red sauce is my favorite). There are a bunch bottled hot sauces too. They have tapatio!

Drink selection is great. There are a bunch of local beers and some US beers too! The margaritas are great, but make sure you get the "Friday night" size because why not?!

Lastly the staff is great. Nate was was was working the counter when we got there. He was really nice and explained a lot. After our meal he was even nice enough to give us a few pointers on where to stop for drinks.

I would definitely return when ever I'm...

Best Burrito & Taco Spot in Town

If you’re craving Mexican soul food with a Tex-Mex spin, look no further than this gem, run by an American expat. Think of it as Chipotle but better—homemade flavors, packed burritos, quesadillas, and creative twists like coleslaw on tacos, all made with fresh, high-quality ingredients. If you like meat & cheese, maybe some cilantro and guacamole, this is your place. There are also vegan options though.

Is it authentically Mexican? No, but that’s not the point. It’s Tex-Mex at its finest—delicious, hearty, and affordable. In fact, it’s one of the most budget-friendly taco and burrito spots in the city. The house lager (Helles) and frozen margaritas are perfect additions to your meal.

The vibe is fun and eclectic. The interior is a mix of skateboards, vintage tape recorders, and even Connect 4 games, creating a relaxed and quirky atmosphere. They also host English-speaking events like stand-up comedy, making it a great hangout spot, especially for expats or U.S. Armed Forces personnel.

And don’t miss Taco Tuesdays, where you can score amazing deals on tacos. Whether you’re a Tex-Mex fan or just looking for a casual spot to enjoy great food, this place is...
