What a true gem to find in Go-Ho! A wonderful, modern and very classy Michelin star restaurant. Our host Alex, greeted us at the door and took care of our coats as we were lead to our table. There space has a feeling of a very modern hunter's lodge (without the stuffed animal heads!), with warm woods, cool blacks and neutral greys throughout. Elegant without being pretentious or stark.

It's a degustation menu (choice of 5, 6 or 7 courses) and the food was complex and superb! And the highlight of the evening was the duck with parsnip. I would happily come back just for a plate of that on it's own if I could! The food was served to us by one of the chefs and each element of the dish was explained and highlighted with care and passion.

The wines were fresh, funky and an unusual surprise. Alex was happy to explain about the wines and you could see this was something he was clearly passionate about. This is a key word that continues to shine throughout the evening: PASSION!

While this is a Michelin star restaurant, it is important to note that it is not like other Michelin star restaurants I have been to or that many may have experienced. The team here are clearly passionate and very talented and the food and wine is excellent. However, there is an element of casualness and freedom that this team has in the way that they approach there business. I personally find this very refreshing and enjoyable, though it may not be to everyone's taste for a "Michelin star experience." To be clear, this is not to say that the staff are not professional, this is not the case at all - but there is a air of casualness, openness and friendliness that you might expect from your local cafe or favourite local small restaurant which I found utterly charming and relaxing.

If you are looking for wonderful, complex food and wine coupled with friendly and passionate people, then do yourself a favour and make a booking. If you are looking for a more traditionally and formal setting, then shift your perspective and give them a try. Either way - Get here a try it out because you will not regret it!

PS - I forgot to take photos of the food because it was so good and I was having to much of a...

Fusion or better Confusion. I intended to take out my wife on a treat to a Michelin starred restaurant in my home town Nürnberg, but this was a let-down. There are so many great fine dining restaurants in Germany and Europe, but I can't count Veles as one of those. No real flavour concept or at least none that we understood, average service, I presume they were mentally on vacation already (restaurant closed the next day), and significantly overpriced for what it was. EUR 40 difference between the 5- and the 7-course menu and I regret to have chosen the 7-course. The two additional courses were just two tiny desserts and one of them was a very strange blue cheese granita. Wine list consist of plenty of natural wine. If you have tasted natural wine before, then you know what I am talking about. Chef didn't bother to explain the dishes. If you keen on trying local food, there are many better and cheaper options out there in Nürnberg. If you are into fine dining, save the money, hop on a plane to London and go to restaurants like Andrew Edmonds (no star, great food and stunning wine list) or Clove Club (2-star, top food,...

Schade...

Really innovative techniques with an focus on using local ingredients akin to Noma. The technique , flavors and creativity behind every dish along with a detailed explanation truly made it a memorable experience more. I particularly appreciated their focus on various ways to make “garum” and flavored oils from what would be considered “waste products”. The service was immaculate and the wine pairings were well thought out to match and complement the taste of the dishes.

Nice evening overall👌. The food was really special and interesting (except for one sweet item right at the very beginning, IMHO), the service was great, and the atmosphere was very pleasant as well. I wasn’t a fan of the wine list that goes with the concept, but I completely understand why they choose to offer those wines. It would still be nice to have a „backup wine list“ for people who prefer a different taste. All in all a great evening, thank you 🙏!
