Café Stephan's Cathedral — Restaurant in Passau

I don’t like this place. Very expensive. Plate of Salad with chicken: a few pieces of chicken, tomatoes and cucumbers on top, a lot of lettuce on the bottom, some of them tasted like mold (after we left there I had a bad stomach ache) The same with salad with fish. Also I didn't like the fact that we have half of a large bottle of water and we wanted to take it, because we had to go by bus to another city, we late and had no time to look for a supermarket. The waitress did not allow the bottle to be taken away, she offered to pour it into a plastic cup, citing the fact that they hand over glass bottles for recycling (how will I take it and travel with it on the bus is an interesting question) For the amount I left there, they could have that bottle present. In general, I will not return there again and will not recommend it...

Nice atmosphere, indoor & outdoor terrace seating, front terrace has outdoor seating for handicap, toilets located outside front seating area thru unmarked brown door, but several 1 & 2 steps involved, no ramps. Inside is ornate, plenty of seating, a large outdoor patio is accessed from the main inside area, surrounded by the church towers on one side, and can see Mariahilf on the right over the rooftops. Staff were friendly, Coffee was very good, must be clear on your order, they call coffees by different names than USA. The pastries and cakes looked fabulous. Staff spoke English...

Unabhängig von dem guten gastronomischen Angebot (Warme Speisen, Kaffee, Kuchen, Milchshakes etc.) ist der Service eine einzige und teilweise geschäftsschädigende Katastrophe!

Bestellungen wurden falsch aufgenommen, ein Getränk erst nach zweimaligem Hinweis an den richtigen Tisch gebracht, Servicepersonal wirkt unmotiviert, desorientiert (!) und ist teilweise unfreundlich. Bei der Abrechnung folgte dann das negative Highlight - uns wurden anstatt der korrekten 25€ plötzlich 36€ berechnet. Auf Nachfrage die Rechnung bitte auszudrucken erhielten wir die abenteuerliche Antwort "Das ist leider nicht mehr möglich da ich ihren Tisch bereits gelöscht habe" - ein unglaublicher Betrugsversuch! (Aus eigener Erfahrung war es uns bekannt dass Bestellungen die im Rahmen eines elektronischen Bestellsystems in der Gastronomie erfasst werden am gleichen Geschäftstag aufgerufen werden können und die Rechnung bei Bedarf gedruckt werden kann)

Somit wurden mit der Kellnerin (Das kleine Einmaleins und Addition waren für sie anscheinend Fremdwörter - daher haben wir selbst die Beträge addieren müssen 😨) alle Bestellungen einzeln abgearbeitet und vor den Augen anderer wartender Kunden der Betrug aufgedeckt. Das Geld gab es zurück, eine Entschuldigung folgte ebenso und auch bei allem Respekt der Betriebsamkeit am Samstag Nachmittag- so etwas ist keinem von uns je schon einmal passiert. Ich hoffe nur dass diese Masche nicht systematisch bei dem vorwiegend älteren Klientel dieses Cafés...
