First time I was here in May, and really enjoyed atmosphere and cheesecake, service was good and cheesecake was tasty.
My mother came (travelled) for a visit and I decided to let her try the best cheesecake here. As we came - terrace was full, so we decided to take for takeaway.
When I made order, waitress asked me “do you want me to pack them?” I said “no”. Probably she didn’t hear me and start to pack it, when I nicely asked her “you don’t have to pack it, we will eat it in the park” - she rolled her eyes and with all nervous actions start to throwaway papers to the trash, we even had a eye look between me, my sister and my mom. Ok, whatever, she may had a bad day.
As soon as we went outside, two tables were empty and my mother would like to sit, I said “sure”. We almost finished our cakes when waitress came and said “if you took cakes for takeaway you are not allowed to sit here, so I have to ask you to leave”. Well, no problem if there is a clients waiting for this table then I can understand, but there were no one, so I don’t understand what is the problem, especially we had only to make couple of bites from this cake.
I left with disappointed feeling from service, in my opinion it wasn’t welcomed at all. I love their cheesecakes, but this bad way of service ruin everything. Not gonna comeback, not gonna suggest any of my friends to come here.
UPDATED: after reading your answer for this feedback, I don’t know what type of the client service they teach you in the school that you finished, probably you skipped classes and should come back to it :)
Please, notice, that I wrote very polite explanation even with understanding way, but I see that poisonous also came from your answer not only from the behave in the cafe with service us and rolling your eyes. Glad to understand that I didn’t overreact after reading other comments, I see it’s happening pretty other. Wish you all the best of learning how to serve people 😊
Pss. And yeah, customer focus is very very bad, so I have to change my feedback from...
Read moreWe visited last Saturday after a daytrip and had a piece of blueberry cheesecake.
#Food# In my opinion as a former chef and cheesecake connoisseur the cake is too sweet and lacks fluffiness - instead its quite heavy so a piece for two is just enough. According to the comments it hits the taste of quite a lot of people. Also there is no visible trace of real bourbon vanille to be found in the cake which could have been a quality indicator.
#Service# The young woman who was behind the counter was snotty at best and far away from providing actual service or a sense of hospitality. As soon as I turned my back to her she was joking to a colleague about my ask to take the cake to the table. Apparently, there is a policy that they only take orders at the table so they know where we sit. Ironically though, a different waiter brought our cake and didn't know where we were..
The young man who continued to serve us after the young women took our order was nice. Although a bit too enthusiastic in his approach I sensed a lot of positive energy in him.
#Atmosphere# The cafe and interior itself have charm and are indeed quite cozy. The light is dimmed, the walls have framed pictures and the tables are decorated with roses contributing to a pleasant atmosphere. Only the toilets have some improvement potential that should be easy to come by.
#My Advice# As professional staff is hard to find I'd suggest to invest in hiring somebody to create dedicated training for a hospitality mindset and service best practices as well as improve on the cake recipes.
In a year or so I might visit again and see how your little cafe...
Read moreHonestly I have no idea why the reviews for the cheesecake are so good. We tried 3 flavors of cheesecake - creme brulee, nougat and classic. The cheesecake is a tad dry and you don't really taste any of the flavor mentioned in the cheesecake. Creme brulee was very sweet on the top but the rest of the cheesecake had no Creme brulee flavor. Same goes for the nougat. Very disappointed. We has ice coffee, ice chocolate, tea and chocolate with Eierlikor. All drinks are mediocre and the last drink had very minimal Eierlikor Taste. Service was very friendly at first but the waitress came to our table a total of 4 times while we were still eating the cheesecake to ask if we were alright. Maybe I'm not used to this over friendly service but I think 4 times is a bit too much for us to fully enjoy the experience. No card payment only cash. Atmosphere is...
