Maison Charlotte — Restaurant in Potsdam

Step into what looks like a French bistro, and enter into a friendly space, with great food options. We found this place after the place we researched was unexpectedly closed for the day. A quick check of Google reviews suggested that this place should be good.

And it was! We were there in mid-afternoon, so there were only a couple of other occupied tables. The front room is very charming, with bistro tables and large glass windows overlooking the pretty street.

We were seated in the interior rear (not on the terrace). The seating was comfortable, the space intimate yet bright due to windows looking out onto the pretty terrace. The menu was in German, but the very friendly and fun waitress assured us that she could help with the translation if we needed help.

The flammkuchen was so delicious. We ordered two, and they were both great. They sold pretty decent wine by the glass. We had the excellent creme brulee for dessert, and it was a very subtle delicious vanilla flavor, and great creamy consistency.

There is an extensive menu, and it is amazing that they can offer so many varied dishes in a place of this size. They exceeded our expectations, and we are so grateful for the kind and friendly server who made the experience even better than it already was.

Colour (Race) unfriendly! They ruined my night! I am writing this while sitting right in the restaurant. Am standing write at the counter asking the waiter (Sven Richter), if I would get a reservation for one, and the waiter shows me with his head towards unset table ,( the pictures attached )being am a patient person I asked him again, still , he points with his head towards the place he showed me earlier meanwhile a paar (two white ladies) comes with no reservations too and he shows them other direction where other white are sitting! I got no patience called the waitress and asked her why was I given the seat where am the only person of colour, whereas others are put on the other side, moreover I was dining on my own expense! after sitting for a while, the female waitress comes to pick my order I ask her if my table can be sett she goes and brings the serviette and the knife and a🍴 then puts them on the table, while I was still waiting for my order I could see them chit chatting with a glance towards me then laughing! Very friendly service in a cosy environment. The starters and main courses were very good, the deserts not so much (we didn’t really appreciate the chocolate in them). The prices are indeed pretty steep compared to other restaurants, even though the quality is good. There is a very nice garden in the back and a wintergarden as well attached to it (that’s where we sat), unfortunately when even only one person smokes in the garden (as was the case when we were there) everybody...
