Holzmaler - Stuttgart — Restaurant in Stuttgart

The place is nice and cozy, but the bar staff was extremely unfriendly, and also rude. No one in the group wanted to go and order the next rounds because the bartender (the bald gentleman with glasses) was almost scary to interact with, so each round we chose a victim from our group to go order the next drinks. The cocktails were overpriced & mediocre. They had two "award-winning cocktails, i don't know what award it is they won, but we ordered one of them (13€), and it was basically Maracuja juice and it was not even freshly prepared, but rather filled from a pre-mixed bottle. I recommend you go to this place if you have some sort of fetish for mistreatment & sugary...

The cocktails were very nice, and we spent 2.5 hours here with zero problem. However, when we went to ask the bartender what drink he was making while sitting at the bar, he literally freaked out and gave us a lecture about bothering him. We just wanted to know what drink he was making, very politely, and he took it as a misdirect and decided to aggresively answer us. I feel it greatly affected my night, and for a bill of such a high price, he could have had a bit more patience.

I would have come back in a heartbeat, but now I will never recommend this bar...

Ich war schon einige Male in dieser Bar, und ich fand es jedesmal wirklich gut und nett, und die Cocktails waren gut. Aber die Art und Weise, wie wir heute abgewiesen wurden, hat leider alle bisherigen positiven Assoziationen auf einen Schlag zerstört. Die Konversation an der Tür verlief in etwa wie folgt (auf's Wesentliche gekürzt):

Er: "Wir sind leider voll" Wir: "Echt jetzt? Es sieht doch eigentlich gar nicht voll aus." Er: "Das entscheide ja wohl ich, ob wir voll sind oder nicht. Diese Bar gehört mir. Oder gehört sie etwa euch? Ich glaube nicht, sie gehört mir. Und wenn ich sage, sie ist voll, dann ist sie auch voll, das entscheide ich so, und nicht ihr. Und ich sage sie ist voll."

Diese Wortwahl empfanden wir als äußerst unfreundlich und unangemessen. Es war wirklich nicht nötig, uns auf so aggressive Art und Weise abzuweisen. Es hätte vollkommen ausgereicht, zum Beispiel zu sagen: "Wir haben die Philosophie, dass wir keine weiteren Gäste einlassen, wenn alle Sitzplätze belegt sind.". Oder meinetwegen "Kann sein, dass es nicht voll aussieht, ist es aber gemäß unserer Definition". Hätten wir ohne Weiteres so akzeptiert. Und wären an einem anderen Tag gerne wieder gekommen.

Nach diesem Wortwechsel ist uns aber die Lust auf diese Bar vergangen. Die Holzmaler-Bar wird uns in Erinnerung bleiben als Bar mit arrogantem, unfreundlichem, verbal-aggressivem Personal (zumindest einem). Schade, weil es bisher tatsächlich immer...
