We chose Caro’s Restaurant as a treat for my birthday meal, and it didn't disappoint. This spot is located inside Hotel Domizil Tübingen situated directly on the banks of the river Neckar. The views from the seat by the window were absolutely stunning. Caro’s has a simple modern design with neutral colors and a cozy vibe. On the day we visited, there was a sudden storm and the restaurant was full as the terrace guests moved inside. Nevertheless, the staff was outstanding, friendly and courteous. Service took a bit of time, but that was not a problem for us as we had plenty of time to spare. We ordered a three-course meal. consists of an appetizer, a main course, and a dessert: - The Siegfried Rose Wild Berry (Aperitif) - The Pink Grapefruit Spritz (Aperitif) - The Sashimi of Yellow Fin Tuna (First Course) - The May Turnip Carpaccio (First Course) - The Homemade Wild Garlic Tortellini (Second Course) - The Soured Boiled Rump of Local Buffalo (Second Course) - The Rhubarb Tartelette (Third Course) - The Semolina Flummery (Third Course) All the dishes were fine. The combination of ingredients created a complex and balanced flavor profile. Specially the May Turnip Carpaccio and the Soured Boiled Rump of Local Buffalo were something to remember! Make sure to make reservation because it can be busy especially in the evening. Highly recommend! We’ll definitely come again.

Dined during an event. While some dishes were great - as the choice of local venison - and the staff was warm and welcoming - the overall experience was a bit underwhelming. The food was a bit hit and miss for the price. I strongly recommend the venison and the fish (both main courses) but wasn't particularly convinced by appetizers or desserts. It was especially difficult to order wine, with long waiting time to get a bottle and even discussion over "recommendations". I understand the struggles of the waiters in not being able to remember the extensive list of wines, some of which are not in their native tongue. However, if I pick a wine from the menu, I want that one. I don't want to be "recommended" another one, which ended up being not of my liking. I did appreciate the banter and the jokes from both our main waiters. Maybe leaving a wine list on site for them would have spared us some trouble.

The restaurant was a new discovery for us. They serve lunch until 14h45 and have two daily specials with an unbeatable price - performance ratio (between 11 and 13 €). A la carte dishes tend to be between €18 and €35. There are many vegetarian and gluten-free options. Everything was very tasty. They also have delicious chocolates from the chocolatier down the street and good ice cream. We will definitely come back again.

A very mixed bag. After we ordered a 4 course menu, we had to wait for over a hour for the first dish, despite restaurant having very few guests.

The dish was fine, nothing really special. After that we had to wait another 40 min for the second and another 30 for the third, forth only took 25. The ambience was nice, but we been not overly excited waiting for couple of hours for our food, which was just ok. Out of 4 courses only one was really good, rest was something you could get in any ordinary european low - mid price restaurant , just less nicely arranged on the plate.

We felt like Caros is trying to bite more of than they can chew. It tries to be higher class restaurant which is reflected by the high prices and the nice arrangements of the dishes. Most of the food served was really nothing special and the service with abysmal wait times is a no go. Maybe we have been unlucky with the menu and the service speed that day, but it sure didn't feel right leaving over 150 eur there.

Maybe we pay them another visit one day, but for now I feel like you will have far more fun in much cheaper Krumme Bruecke nearby...
