This is a lovely little café in a very central location—perfect for a quick coffee break while exploring the city. It gets quite busy on weekends, and indoor seating is limited, but there’s a large square right in front where you can sit and enjoy your drink, especially when the weather is nice.

The flat white here is excellent—smooth, well-balanced, and at just €4, it’s a great value. They also offer cakes and several types of banana bread, making it a great spot for a small treat.

It can be a bit lively due to the steady flow of walk-in customers, so it’s not the quietest place—but definitely worth a visit if you’re after a quality coffee and a quick stop...

The workers are very nice, I personally haven't tried the coffee, but my family says it's great! I personally like the chai drinks, absolutely incredible. The drinks themselves look quality as well, with Latte art even on the Chai drinks. Very good menu, smaller than Starbucks, but everything looks tasty, they serve cakes and other sweet pastries too.

The location is nice too, the café itself is small, but they have outdoor seating areas as well as you can sit on the nearby stone stairs

Als gebürtiger Trierer, der die traditionellen Cafés und Bäckereien unserer Innenstadt kennt und schätzt, war ich ganz neugierig, dem Café Balott mal einen Besuch abzustatten.

Mein Eindruck: Das Café spricht klar ein junges, urbanes und offenbar auch eher „links-wokes“ Publikum an. Die Gäste – darunter viele junge Frauen mit eingecremten Gesichtern, Brille und modischem Mantel, vermutlich Studentinnen, sowie hippe junge Männer mit Bart und kunstvoll gebundenem Haar – trugen fast durchweg Trenchcoats oder Mäntel, wie sie momentan unter jungen Leuten angesagt sind.

Mit seiner Einrichtung und lockeren Atmosphäre bietet das Café gewiss eine ansprechende Option für all jene, die ein progressives, modernes Flair suchen. Doch für jemanden wie mich, der eher eine konservative Prägung hat und die traditionellen Cafés vermisst, ist es ein wenig gewöhnungsbedürftig. Ich komme nicht umhin zu bemerken, dass die Aufmachung und die Kundschaft hier ein wenig an Berliner Cafés erinnert – man könnte fast sagen, die „Kreuzbergisierung“ unserer Stadt zieht ein.

Ursprünglich wollte ich mir hier einen Espresso gönnen, doch entschied ich mich schließlich dagegen. Für Menschen, die eine Vorliebe für das links-liberale Milieu und einen hippen Treffpunkt haben, ist das Café sicher ein Volltreffer. Für mich persönlich hätte ich mir an dieser Stelle vielleicht eher eine deutsche Bäckerei oder eine andere Option gewünscht, die die Tradition in unserer Innenstadt fördert...
