Louisiana Trier: A Cornucopia of Flavor and Generosity Located in the heart of the historic city of Trier, Louisiana offers a delightful mix of great food, generous portions, and warm hospitality. An embodiment of culinary generosity, this restaurant brings together the rich traditions of German cuisine with an intriguing twist of international flavors. Walking into Louisiana, one is immediately embraced by a vibrant, yet cozy ambiance. The decor is a tasteful blend of rustic and modern aesthetics, creating a relaxing environment that complements the dining experience. The cornerstone of Louisiana's appeal lies in its delectable food and surprisingly large portions. The menu is a vibrant tapestry of dishes, each crafted with careful thought, quality ingredients, and a lot of heart. Whether you're indulging in their traditional schnitzel or diving into a hearty bowl of their famous goulash, every dish is a delightful treat. What sets Louisiana apart is its commitment to serving generous portions. Their dishes are a testament to the belief that good food should be plentiful and shared. It's an attribute that is seldom seen in the modern dining scene and is a refreshing nod to the tradition of communal dining. The service at Louisiana is equally noteworthy. The staff is attentive, efficient, and displays an infectious passion for their craft. They ensure that every guest is taken care of, further enhancing the overall dining experience. In conclusion, Louisiana Trier is more than just a restaurant – it's a celebration of food and the joy it brings. Their commitment to offering lovely food in big portions sets them apart in the bustling Trier food scene. A visit to Louisiana promises not just a meal, but a delightful culinary experience that leaves your heart content and your stomach full. It's a must-visit destination for food lovers exploring the rich tapestry of Trier's gastronomy.

The food was good. I only gave 4 stars because the name is misleading. Cajun fries, for example, we're nice and crispy, but were not Cajun seasoned at all. With a name like Louisiana, I expected more seasoning on everything. That said, my burger was cooked perfectly. The ribs and chicken wings are not heavily sauced like you'd expect in an American restaurant. It is served with sauce on the side, however, so you can add to your liking. The atmosphere was nice and the service was excellent. I would eat there again.

So, we sit down, order our food, and it arrives. No big deal, right? A waitress passes by and asks if everything is fine. We hadn’t even taken a bite yet, but out of politeness, we just said yes. Then we actually try the food. And honestly? It was horrible.

The wings were so salty they were borderline inedible, and on top of that, they were burnt. The ribs? I don’t even know how to describe them—chewing on actual tree bark might’ve been more enjoyable. Zero tenderness, no flavor, just dry and tough. The Cajun fries? No Cajun seasoning at all. The barbecue sauce? Completely forgettable, no depth, no uniqueness. And the coleslaw? I swear it was the tiniest portion I’ve ever seen in my life—like a joke. My partner’s chicken filet tasted exactly like frozen grocery store chicken, which, honestly, at this point, would’ve been an upgrade.

So, I politely mention that the wings are way too salty and ask for a replacement. And you know what they tell me? No. Why? Because a coworker had already asked me earlier if the food was good, when we hadn’t even started eating yet. Since we said yes (because who complains about food they haven’t tasted yet?), apparently that meant we forfeited our right to speak up. Then she tells me I can order something else, but I’d have to pay for it. So basically, I was stuck with food I couldn’t eat unless I wanted to spend even more money.

I genuinely don’t understand how that logic makes sense. So because I was polite and didn’t immediately cause a scene, I lost my right to have edible food?

The beer was...

You know when you regret having wasted your money? If you don't want that feeling, don't go here! The service was the worst, we'd ask for something (the kids' menu, a napkin, extra mayo) and they would never come. I asked for an extra napkin 4 times before I got one. They kept dropping drinks... The burger bun was so dry, the burger not cooked properly, the coleslaw was the most miniature size I have ever seen, the sweet potato fries were moist. The only nice thing was the berry ice tea! And I know it's not against the law, but everyone around us was smoking, which added to an even more unpleasant experience. All in all, I just regret having gone there, because apparently there is an amazing burger place around the corner called "Burgeramt" I would have loved to try, but we went here instead. And this is literally my first bad review, I'm such a positive person, but this was just such a...
