I usually don’t write negative reviews, but what happened during our last visit was so unacceptable that I can’t stay quiet.
My boyfriend and I brought our friends who had just moved to Germany. It was their first time experiencing German cuisine, and we thought this would be the perfect place to take them. Sadly, it turned out to be a huge mistake, and we won’t be returning nor would I recommend this place to anyone.
The server was unbelievably rude. I simply asked for ketchup, and she responded, “Oh, so I need to go all the way back and bring you the ketchup? How considerate you are.” She actually said that to a customer. When she returned, she reached over my plate and held the bottle of ketchup directly in front of my face, saying, “Here, so you can see it better.” There was plenty of room on the table, but she chose to be confrontational and disrespectful instead.
We told the manager what happened, hoping they would at least take it seriously. Instead, our concerns were dismissed like it was nothing. That made the whole situation even more frustrating and left us feeling completely unwelcome.
We were so uncomfortable we could barely eat. Most of our food and drinks were left untouched. I wouldn’t go back if it were the only restaurant in the city.
If you’re considering this place, please don’t. There are many other restaurants nearby that actually respect their customers. This is not...
Read moreI’ve visited this restaurant twice now, both times for lunch. The first time, I had to wait in a short queue before getting a table, but today I was seated immediately without any delay. The service is very friendly, especially by German standards. On top of that, the service is incredibly fast. From placing the order to having the food on the table, it took no more than five minutes. The food is excellent. The flavors are very well balanced and everything is seasoned beautifully. Even though there are some fried items on the menu, the dishes aren’t overly greasy, which makes the meal feel lighter and more enjoyable. I tried the soup with croutons, two variations of schnitzel, and the “Trierer Gefüllte” Kartoffelklöße (stuffed potato dumplings). Every dish was delicious, you can really taste the care put into the preparation and the quality of the ingredients. This restaurant is a must-try in Trier. Whether you're looking for a quick and tasty lunch or a place with consistent quality, it delivers...
Read moreVery busy potato specialty restaurant in Trier. This is a restaurant that specializes in a vast array of dishes that have potatoes as part of the dish. By vast I mean in excess of 50 selections on the menu from soups to mashed to baked to fried to boiled ( I'm sure I'm missing a few concoctions 🤣🤣🤣). I had the Liverwurst and Blood Sausage warmed over mashed potatoes blended with sauerkraut. Very tasty and unique. Also had was a Wiener Schnitzel with fried potatoes which was excellent 👌👍. Huge clientele for lunch midweek. Outdoor and inside seating Restrooms are downstairs Handicapped doable but tight spaces and downstairs restroom. Reasonable prices Central location on the main pedestrian road less than one kilometer from Porta Nigra Comfortable ambiance. Good service. But very busy!!!!!!
