Maldaner Coffee & Culture Lab I Specialty Coffee Shop — Restaurant in Wiesbaden

This place is awesome. I highly recommend if you're looking for a good cuppa, to hit up this or any other Maldaner Cafe. Their coffee is delicious. Id only just moved to the city and was struggling to find a great coffee place--I'd found "good" but I was looking for great. This place has great coffee.

Food/Drinks: great. You can actually taste the subtle notes. The cheesecakes that they have handy are also tasty, and go great with the coffee. They have single origin options, some experimental options, and some just really good coffee. They also have non-coffee options (admittedly I have not tried these yet but I will) and alcoholic options like an espresso martini, etc.

Service: top notch. The staff really know what they're about and make great recommendations.

Atmosphere: issa vibe. Nice open, airy, and bright Also there's an adorable doggo that'll keep you company sometimes. Where else would you want to spend your afternoon drinking a cup of yummy coffee.

Definitely recommend, it's tucked away in a bit of an alley, just keep walking forward until you can't anymore....

Wir haben am 3stündigen Espresso Extraktion Workshop teilgenommen und hatten viel Spaß dabei und haben viele neue Erkenntnissen mit nach Hause genommen. Sebastian ist total sympathisch und vermittelt seinen Wissensschatz über die Welt des Kaffees - und natürlich Specialty Coffee - super, so dass man alles versteht und anwenden kann.

Zu Beginn haben wir uns über die Theorie - von den Basics (welche Kaffeesorten gibt es, etc.) bis hin zu Feinheiten (was bedeutet Varietät, Cupping, wie sehen die Bohnen nach verschiedenen Aufbereitungsarten aus, usw.) - unterhalten, danach ging es dann an die Maschinen.

Hier haben wir die Möglichkeit bekommen systematisch die verschiedenen Parameter zu verändern und zu lernen wie sie sich auf den extrahieren Espresso auswirken. Sebastian war hier sehr hilfreich, indem er jedem über die Schulter geschaut hat und mit seinem Profi-Wissen entsprechend weitergeholfen hat.

Obwohl wir den Workshop eigentlich nicht mit eigener Maschine gebucht hatten, durften wir unsere Mühle mitbringen, um diese besser kennen und anwenden zu lernen - nochmal ein großes Dankeschön hierfür.

Da unsere Gruppe beim Theorieteil viele Fragen gestellt hat (was ich super fand) blieb für die Praxisphase an der Maschine am Ende nur noch etwa eine Stunde. Das kann je nach Gruppe unterschiedlich (also auch mal länger) ausfallen. Allerdings muss man auch sagen: Nach einer Weile des intensiven Espresso-Verkostens waren wir sowieso ziemlich überkoffeiniert!

The Maldaner is hidden in the backyard, and when it is open, there is usually a flag outside to make it easy to find. Aside from the nondescript entrance (except for the string of lights), I have nothing but positive things to say. The staff was super friendly and helpful, the music was pleasant and the ambience was just very cozy, I don't think the pictures can do it justice. The coffee was very tasty and the price was fair, unfortunately I didn't have time to get another bag of beans. But I will definitely come...
