Let me start off by saying: WOW!. Stunning place. Stunning decor. We kicked off the meal with a Soup (which was paired with some delicious bread), both of which was excellent. We then shared the Tartare (Raw meat) selection platter - very very tasty!! For Mains. Wife had Sushi - Fantastic. I had the Paella. Although all the seafood was cooked to perfection this was not a Paella. I would decribe it more as a Seafood platter. Maybe a bit dry (but now I'm being highly critical). It did need some acidity so after I asked for some Lemon to squeeze over it just elevated the dish. Turkish coffee to end off the meal was divine. We had the Freshly squeezed Orange, Mango and Pineapple juices to drink. Very nicely done and very tasty. Service can be improved. Admittedly the restaurant is still very new but the waiter did not ask once during our meal if we needed something or if everything was ok. We had to call him over every time. We also had to ask for Salt/Pepper as it was not on the table to start with. Atmosphere missed out on a 5 star rating just because it was awkward sitting down to eat while all the waiters are constantly staring at you. Admittedly the Soccer awards was showing on the Big screen behind and to the right of us. But still. Feels like they were staring at us (we were the only people eating on the ground floor). So here is the question. Will I go back. Answer: For Sure!! Definitly some more items on the menu I want to try out. Great addition to the Accra food culture

Babel restaurant is a Mediterranean inspired restaurant that also serves sushi (go figure!). Ideally located in the Labone area, the statuesque architecture and design of the restaurant cannot be missed. From the grand entrance, right through to the interior design with all the levels of the restaurant- the Middle Eastern grandeur theme runs throughout the venue. Although the restaurant doesn’t serve alcohol, they have a range of other drink options ranging from a myriad of fresh fruit cocktails (I had the ‘Exotic’ : mango, passion fruit and dragon fruit juices 🔥🔥), teas, coffee and flavoured lemonades. The food I had was all freshly made! For my starter, I decided to sample from their sushi menu and had the Crazy Salmon Salad (fresh Salim, crab mix, tobiko, crispy rice, iceberg lettuce and avocado)… And was tasty! But the real show stopper for me, and what I would recommend when visiting are their wonderful mezze and grilled food options. I had the Mix Grill selection, which included beef kafta, chicken tawook, beef tika, hummus and I substituted the fries for salad. YUMMMMM. If you’re a fan of hookah - there is the option to have shisha while dining. Adding to the Middle Eastern vibes set in the restaurant.

I absolutely enjoyed myself here. The waiter who served us was super attentive, and very proactive. The service was fast, which I was extremely happy about. The food! Even though it was pricey, I absolutely enjoyed the food. It was very worth it. For starters, my date and I had the fried calamari and honey mustard shrimp. The breading for the calamari was so crisp and crunchy and the shrimp was so juicy and smothered in a very yummy sauce. We were also given a complimentary bread basket with some of the best pita bread I’ve had in Accra. We had their ura special maki (black dragon roll) and then I ordered the mixed grill while my date ordered the lamb chops. The sushi was to die for! One of the best I’ve had in Accra. The meats in the mixed grill were lovely and I loved the lamb kefta the most. I was a little disappointed that there was no alcohol on the menu, but knowing that it’s a Lebanese place, I knew not expect alcohol. I would definitely go back here when I have money, and I recommend it to everyone 10/10!
