I donât even know where to begin with Bella Afrikana Beach Club. The service was, without exaggeration, the worst I have ever experienced in my life. From beginning to end, at every single encounter, the level of incompetence was staggering. Despite multiple complaints over the course of a 10-hour visit for a birthday celebration, there was no compensation, acknowledgment, or meaningful attempt to address the issues.
Let me start with the positives: the space itself is lovely. It has a relaxed beachfront vibe thatâs perfect for unwinding. But thatâs where the good news ends.
From the moment we arrived, things started going downhill. The level of incompetence is shocking! The hostess was completely clueless about her role and eventually abandoned us, leaving us to figure out our own seating arrangements. We had to place our orders twice with two different servers, which set the tone for the rest of the day.
The food, while decent, came with its own surprises. One order of steak and mashed potatoes revealed âmashed potatoesâ unlike anything Iâd ever seen. When we questioned it, the waiter admitted it was instant mashed potatoes! The drinks fared no better. My mint lemonade was excellentâprobably the last good thing I had during our entire stay. The strawberry daiquiri, on the other hand, came with a shot of strawberry syrup instead of rum because of a bartender âmistake.â Other cocktails were either absurdly watered down or drowning in sugar.
The level of carelessness extended to every detail. One friendâs food order, which was supposed to include fries, arrived without them. When she followed up, the staff admitted to the mistake and tried to take her already-eaten plate back to the kitchen to add the fries, instead of simply bringing out the missing item.
Even after escalating these repeated blunders to a supervisor, there was no improvement in service. The lack of accountability was infuriating. To top it all off, after enduring this ordeal and paying a nearly 5k bill, the waiter had the audacity to ask for a tip!
Bella Afrikana Beach Club may look like the ideal destination for a Sunday afternoon at the beach, but the service turns it into a nightmare. For the premium prices charged, this level of incompetence is completely unacceptable. Unless drastic changes are made, I cannot recommend this...
Read moreThe ambiance is excellent, but tough to justify the problems here. Management is poor, food is not good, and everything is obscenely overpriced.
Seafood dishes like whatever portion of octopus or calamari they give you are simply tiny for the price.
Pizza now is soggy, way too oily, and the slices can't even be held in one's hand without the soggy toppings and cheese and sauce dripping off completely.
Also, The chef has consistently left ingredients out of the pizza the past THREE times I've ordered pizzas from there - on a 400GHS (~$40USD) pizza, which is unacceptable. When notifying waiters, they inform the chef (who continues to make the same mistakes), and no effort or offer is given to the customer for a reduced price or take the ordered dish off of the bill when the mistake is clearly their fault.
Honestly, it's getting hard to justify this place anymore. Used to love coming here every single week - even multiple times a week, but can't justify it unless the management changes, prices reduce, and waiters have the authority to take items off of the bill when a mistake is made, without calling management over. And no - we don't want extra free drinks, we want to pay for what we ordered, and not pay for someone...
Read moreI took my sister out for a special birthday celebration, hoping to create beautiful memories. Unfortunately, it turned out to be one of the worst experiences we've ever had.
I called ahead to confirm details, but no one mentioned that bringing our own champagne was not allowed. We placed an order totaling over 1,500 cedis, expecting great food and service, but the meals were substandard and completely underwhelming.
Throughout our time there, we were made to feel uncomfortableâas though we were being watched and judged. It felt as if we didnât belong, and the staff treated us with visible suspicion. When we asked for the bill, the manager himself brought it over, clearly implying we couldnât afford to pay. To make things worse, when we expressed our dissatisfaction, the manager coldly told us we were free to leave if we didnât want to be there.
That level of rudeness and unprofessionalism is inexcusable. We were treated unfairly and disrespected at every turn. I would never recommend this place to anyone. It was a total disappointment and an experience I wouldnât wish on anyone...
