I love visiting your café whenever I'm in Accra, but every time I am bothered by the lack of organization of the service. There are 8 waiters working in the hall, while there are 4 visitors in the hall. Half of the waiters stand and hold on to the wall, spending their working day together. The barman only works when the order comes, the rest of the time he simplifies standing at the bar counter with a dull face. When i has been sent to the table, then I am visited by 4 different waiters. One brings the menu, the other takes the order and then forgets about me, the third comes to ask if everything is okay, the fourth cleans the table. A tall young man constantly makes mistakes. Brought me a table of sparkling water that I didn't order, just brought me a capuchino instead of iced coffee. Well, it's not the end of the world and everything was solved. I'm just amazed at how it is possible to manage a café like this and pay everyone a salary, while half of them just stand by and when they work for a moment, they mess everyone up, or forget about you altogether. Please train your workers. Organize the work, so that each waiter knows what their task is. Assign them responsibilities. As a café owner, I know how much work one waiter actually has to do while working. If they have time to just stand and talk with a colleague, or check they phones, then there must be something wrong with the organisation of the café's work. Good luck and...
Read moreToday, I visited Jamestown Coffee Roasters for brunch with my partner. He got the Breakfast in a Pan and I got the seafood pasta. Both were absolutely exquisite. The Seafood pasta was prepared with fresh lobster and they did not skimp on it at all! Generous portions, beautiful flavors and lovely presentation. We also had a few of their drinks: the Aphro Caipirinha, the Kaneshie Coffee and an iced latte. Again, impressively executed based off of the descriptions of each item in their menu.
The service was also exceptional. We were attended to by a cheerful and very resourceful lady by the name of Portia. She's great at her job, and she represents the establishment very well. We went on a Saturday around brunch time, so there were quite a few patrons on site but the space was not necessarily crowded -- the layout of the establishment is very social-distancing friendly. We decided to enjoy the outdoor seating area. It ended up being a good choice because there were strong fans to fend off the heat and any flying insects, and we got to enjoy the sunshine while dining.
On a final note, we found the pricing of the food and drinks to be quite affordable especially given the quality and quantity offered. We will absolutely be returning with friends. This was an easy...
Read more1 star for the ambiance and the space. 1 star for the coffee/juice. The food, wifi, service however is lacking.
I asked for the eggs benedict but requested if the bacon can be replaced either by vegetables or smoked salmon to which the server went on to explain to me that the eggs benedict would not be an eggs benedict thus no changes can be made to anything on the menu. Coming from land of eggs benedict, I truly had to laugh at was being said to me. Out of curiosity, I asked what do people who don’t eat pork order here, to which the answer was salad or something like that. Not the server's fault, I am sure the server was doing as told. However, if the chef/management cannot accommodate a simple request to take off the bacon I am not sure what kind of a chef this person is. Moving forward, I went on to order a smoke salmon crepe which happened to be filled with more shredding carrots than smoked salmon, with wilting cucumber and lettuce. The wifi wasn’t working either.
Cool to hang out for a coffee and work (when the wifi works) in soothing environment, but don’t bother with the food....
