The COVID-19 pandemic has had its toll of businesses and the general public not forgetting the 3-months partial lockdown effective 30th March, 2019. The country is now in the month of June 2021 and today I am at the Labone Junction with an intention of visiting a nearby restaurant; Le Magellan Restaurant. It s very early in the morning at the time of 7:30 O'clock and the weather is not clear being unfortunate for me as I also have the taking of photos on mind. I am walking away from the Labone Junction bus stop to be able to go onto a side road of the Estate that has a big drainage between its clearing area and the dual carriageway coming along from the Danquah Circle on to the Labadi to Osu Main Road. It is 7:35am and I am now on the road in front of the restaurant. The Security man I saw earlier on when approaching is no at Post so I decided to go inside after calling out twice as I found out that the gate is not locked. The place is walled with the Post outside. I was standing inside but nearer the gate when the security officer joined me coming from outside. I explained my presence there to him, he offered me a plastic chair to sit on as he goes to announce my presence to the caretaker. The male caretakers are two and run a day and night shift alternating. The business has been operating since the second half of the 1980's. Customers are served from 12mid-day up to 10:30pm or 11:00pm daily. There are flowers grown for beautification. There is a small and not so long a space with two cars parked on it. There is a very large cleared area at the outside frontage for customers. The place and vicinity is very quiet. The inside frontage and the inside of the restaurant is set-up for the day's business. The inside of the restaurant is spacious. There is no wheelchair parking place. The Veronica Bucket and accessories are available and has a cleaned area. The refuse collectors came to park on the side street and took away that of the restaurant. Comparatively as to previous the pandemic has affected the running of business here much and more customers would now like to receive their request at homes and the offices and I also found out that most customers do enjoyed being at the restaurant as previous. The B. Appiah Electricals Ltd. and the silver queen (which deals in cosmetics and makeup) are among the few businesses nearby and along the same road. The Bus Stop is not very far from the restaurant. The rain did not come on and I happened to take some photos. It might be of interest for one to know that I left Home at 6:32am and coming back, of my reaching circle at 9:09am, Kaneshie at 9:23am and finally at...
Read moreMy FAV restaurant in Accra!! Food is always impeccable, as is the service. Been going for 11 years and it's even better now than it was then. Must try to chicken wings in garlic butter, fried calamari in spicy salt, garlic cheese bread, and fried prawns in garlic butter for starters (too much food, I know, but I cannot just settle for one starter there). For the main meal, I'm in love with the lobster fricassée, but my girlfriend switches between the beef merlot and beef in mushroom sauce. Every year on my birthday, I treat myself to the seafood special (most expensive thing on the menu) and it's...

From the moment you enter till you leave, you're sure to have a positive lasting impression of this pretty little place. The owner is always around to personally ensure that you're having a great time. The portions are very generous and tasty. The staff very friendly and parking isn't a problem. Impeccably clean and superb service.
Of course you should expect such a wonderful time at Le Magellan to cost you a mean cheque 😂
