MilkBox Café — Restaurant in Accra

I ordered the muddled ginger tea. It was tasty but very strong so you must love ginger. Also bought apple pie, it was very tasty with a nice crust and not too sweet.

The reason for the 1 star rating is overcharging with additional fees. They charged me 12.3% service charge. There was no mention ahead of time about this fee. The receipt, which was provided after I paid has a discretionary fee of 5% for take away. I don’t understand why it was 12.3% instead of 5%. Additionally, they charged 1% tourist fee. These fees are on top of the usual 21%. I’m posting pictures of the take away containers so that MilkBox can’t say that I dined in the store. There are no prices posted for the food and beverages.

I will not patronize this business in the future. Please be sure to check your receipt before paying for your order!

The Milkbox is located in a upscale area in Accra. Upon reading the reviews and seeing the decor on the internet, my sister and I was so exited to try out this place. Unfortunately, I have to leave a honest review in order to help those that would consider paying so much for inconsistent baked goods. Freshness does not appear to be a priority here. I have visited on more than one occasion and the cake slices were not made fresh. This is very disappointing for the price that you pay, and the appeal they give with all of the decor and courteous workers. Also, we had their cupcakes and they were very hard and tasted like chemicals. We literally spit the cupcakes out. As a baker, one thing I appreciate and love is fresh baked goods. The price of their goods are not worth what they are charging. I am hoping to find a consistent and reputable bakery...

MilkBox consistently serves great coffee, sandwiches, pastries, and other deserts. They are Among the best in Accra as I fell for their Americano on the 1st day. Give it a try for a break, coffee time or pastry time with the family. They always have new recipes, have innovations and great ideas for all Season (like Easter, Christmas, etc.). A special mention of the waiters that are all very attentive to details, concentrate on your likes/dislikes Go there for a bite and you'll get a beautiful smile that even the facemask wound prevent you from sweing.
