Read moreI went for breakfast, so this rating is based on my experience of the location early in the day and of my expectation of breakfast. The caramel macchiato was too sweet, and brought to me in a tall glass… with a straw… it was hot… so that was awkward.
I’d seen pictures of pancakes on this app and was happy to finally have some pancakes, but unfortunately they were so rubbery and tasteless that I didn’t even finish them. The eggs were undercooked and I had to send them back and they had no seasonings on them, not even salt… I find that very strange and even when I asked for salt and pepper I was given a plate with some black pepper on it… again strange. The toast was very thin and they didn’t have any jam for it, just butter but at least they gave a hefty amount of butter.
The only thing I really enjoyed was the breakfast smoothie.
The place was very dirty to my surprise because I got there around 12:30/1 pm so you would hav thought there wouldn’t be any issue and the night crew or the morning crew would have cleaned up. That was not the case. A young lady was sweeping, but my table had dirt on it and so did the cushions and there were two wine bottles laying on the floor next to my feet.
I can imagine this place being a nice spot to go to in the evening because the space itself it large and there is a stage for live music but unfortunately I was disappointed in my experience.
The waitress was pleasant, as most Ghanians are, but she wasn’t attentive, and with only 4 of us in the restaurant you would have thought I wouldn’t have to whistle for her attention.
I feel like the place should take advantage of a morning or day crowd as the place could be a nice restaurant to go to, but it seems like they may only really care of their evening crowd. I also believe the owner or manager was there as I saw a man walking around in and out of the office… he seemed friendly, but he didn’t seem to mind that I kept having to whistle or wave for the attention of my server. Maybe I’m old school, but as a former server I was taught to always keep an eye on your tables. They should never really have to flag you down.
I would go back again to try their other dishes, but only if I was invited or if there was live music. I’d try other...
Read moreBeen living in Ghana for 4 months and this is the worst meal I have had thus far. We waited for 1 hour for them to take our order and another 1.5+ hours for our food. After 2 hours waiting we said multiple times we had to go and they kept saying ‘five minutes’ ‘it’s ready’ ‘it’s coming now’. Only when we got up to tell them our ride is here and we are happy to pay for the drinks we have had but we have to go (after warning them several times we couldn’t wait any longer) did the waitress scramble to throw a bunch of food in a takeaway. At this point it is close to midnight. We look in the bag and there was one item (a wrap) we did not order and they put fried rice in our bag and not Jollof which is what we ordered. So from my interpretation of the interaction between the waitress and the kitchen staff it seemed they saw we were leaving and wanted to get our money so they threw a bunch of random food in a bag. Nevertheless the stew we did order was the worst I have ever had. It was so close tasting and smelling to dog food that I had to throw it in the bin. The roll we ate was stale and the fried rice was cold and unflavoured. If it wasn’t for the pea sized thimble of Pepe that was finished in one mouthful otherwise it would have been completely flavourless and dry.
Needless to say I’m never going here again. The waitress was working too hard and I really felt bad for her considering the pressure she was under. However, we came to eat at 9pm and left close to 12am with the wrong food. I don’t mean to bring you down but management need to do better. Your poor staff are running of their feet for god knows how many hours before we arrived. A venue charging 50 Cedi for entry and taking donations for the performance (which was amazing) kind of seems redundant If you came to eat and you are sitting their starving for over 2 hours. Hire more staff, pay your workers and buy better ingredients. Overpriced and underdelivered.
