Zen Garden is an unforgettable place. A large garden/terrace with trees, very pleasant during the day for lunch. But it's in the evening that the magic really happens. Festive lighting, a few sheltered tables. Friendly, smiling waiters for the most part. Excellent, generous food at a very reasonable price. Delicious cocktails ( Ashman special, strong...a killer ). And above all, a live band on stage every night. There's something for every taste...jazzy, acoustic, etc... but the prize goes to the bands covering Ghanaian songs. (Kwampa and his palm wine music, what a delight...), which are wholeheartedly embraced by the Ghanaian public, who clearly enjoy themselves, and don't hesitate to dance. My companion and I spent some unforgettable moments there, in a festive spirit the likes of which can only be found in Ghana. This is really The place to be in Accra 🇬🇭🖤

The ambiance was lovely, lots of mini lights they had live music on Wednesday around 7pm. I had the joloff rice and chicken and beef for 95 Cedis. It took 25 minutes for the order to come and the food was not hot, not even luke warm so why did it take so long? I also noticed that some people who came after us were getting their food faster than us. My partner had the assorted jollof rice that was suppose to come with scrambled egg ( missing) and non existent pieces ofbeef and chicken for 120 Cedis which took over 35 minutes to come.By the time his food came, I was already done with my meal which could be super awkward if you are on a first date at this venue. In sum, come for the live band and drinks but nothing more. As you can see the food is a trending theme for most of these reviews. Do not be bamboozled the food is not worth it.

I'd been told to check out Zen Garden a few times. I finally got around to it this trip. I love live music, so I was excited to be going there on Saturday night, even though that's the only night that they charge a cover. It wasn't an issue for us, but something to note, and I think it was 50 cedis (don't quote me on that). I loved the ambiance of the space. The name is definitely fitting. We had a good time, but I did notice that this spot is a huge draw for tourists. To be honest, coming from a North American country, I'm not a huge fan of hanging out in places and spaces where a lot of tourists gather. I prefer to be where the locals are. It might just have been the night we were there, but that was my experience. The food and drinks were good and we had a great time, which is all that matters.

🌿🍽️ A Culinary Oasis: Zen Garden's Most Delicious Meal 🍽️🌿

If you're a food enthusiast in search of a gastronomic paradise, look no further than Zen Garden. I recently had the privilege of dining at this culinary gem, and I can confidently say that it was an experience that will linger on my taste buds and in my heart for a long time.

From the moment I entered Zen Garden, I was transported to a serene and beautifully designed space. The ambiance is a perfect blend of tranquility and sophistication, with lush greenery and soothing water features that provide an oasis of calm in the heart of the city.

But let's get to the star of the show - the meal that left an indelible mark on my culinary memory.

Zen Garden's Most Delicious Meal: The Zen Bliss Feast

The Zen Bliss Feast is a culinary masterpiece that defies expectations and celebrates the art of food. This multi-course extravaganza is a symphony of flavors, each course thoughtfully prepared and beautifully presented.

🥢 Appetizers: The journey began with a selection of exquisite appetizers, including delicate sushi rolls and elegantly plated sashimi. The freshness of the seafood was unparalleled, and the skillful blending of flavors was a revelation.

🍲 Soup: The next course was a warm, aromatic miso soup that comforted the soul. The depth of umami in this bowl was a testament to the chef's expertise.

🍣 Main Course: The pièce de résistance arrived in the form of the Zen Bliss Platter. This visually stunning array of sushi and sashimi showcased the chef's dedication to precision and quality. The melt-in-your-mouth texture of the sashimi and the intricate rolls were nothing short of a culinary revelation.

🍚 Side Dishes: The meal was complemented by perfectly seasoned side dishes, including gyoza and tempura, that added a delightful variety of tastes and textures to the experience.

🍨 Dessert: The grand finale was a dessert platter that transported me to dessert heaven. The combination of green tea ice cream, mochi, and a selection of delicate pastries was a delightful ending to an unforgettable meal.

But what truly sets Zen Garden apart is not just the exceptional quality of the food, but the genuine passion of the chefs and staff. Their dedication to delivering an extraordinary dining experience is evident in every detail, from the precise presentation of each dish to their attentive service.

In a world where culinary experiences can sometimes blur into one another, Zen Garden stands out as a place of authentic creativity and devotion to the art of food. It's a place where the senses are awakened, where every bite is an adventure, and where every moment is a celebration of flavor.

If you seek a culinary journey that transcends the ordinary, make a reservation at Zen Garden. It's more than a meal; it's an exquisite experience that you'll savor long after the plates have been cleared. Zen Garden, you've set the bar high, and I can't wait to return for another delicious and unforgettable...

I went for breakfast, so this rating is based on my experience of the location early in the day and of my expectation of breakfast. The caramel macchiato was too sweet, and brought to me in a tall glass… with a straw… it was hot… so that was awkward.

I’d seen pictures of pancakes on this app and was happy to finally have some pancakes, but unfortunately they were so rubbery and tasteless that I didn’t even finish them. The eggs were undercooked and I had to send them back and they had no seasonings on them, not even salt… I find that very strange and even when I asked for salt and pepper I was given a plate with some black pepper on it… again strange. The toast was very thin and they didn’t have any jam for it, just butter but at least they gave a hefty amount of butter.

The only thing I really enjoyed was the breakfast smoothie.

The place was very dirty to my surprise because I got there around 12:30/1 pm so you would hav thought there wouldn’t be any issue and the night crew or the morning crew would have cleaned up. That was not the case. A young lady was sweeping, but my table had dirt on it and so did the cushions and there were two wine bottles laying on the floor next to my feet.

I can imagine this place being a nice spot to go to in the evening because the space itself it large and there is a stage for live music but unfortunately I was disappointed in my experience.

The waitress was pleasant, as most Ghanians are, but she wasn’t attentive, and with only 4 of us in the restaurant you would have thought I wouldn’t have to whistle for her attention.

I feel like the place should take advantage of a morning or day crowd as the place could be a nice restaurant to go to, but it seems like they may only really care of their evening crowd. I also believe the owner or manager was there as I saw a man walking around in and out of the office… he seemed friendly, but he didn’t seem to mind that I kept having to whistle or wave for the attention of my server. Maybe I’m old school, but as a former server I was taught to always keep an eye on your tables. They should never really have to flag you down.

I would go back again to try their other dishes, but only if I was invited or if there was live music. I’d try other...

Been living in Ghana for 4 months and this is the worst meal I have had thus far. We waited for 1 hour for them to take our order and another 1.5+ hours for our food. After 2 hours waiting we said multiple times we had to go and they kept saying ‘five minutes’ ‘it’s ready’ ‘it’s coming now’. Only when we got up to tell them our ride is here and we are happy to pay for the drinks we have had but we have to go (after warning them several times we couldn’t wait any longer) did the waitress scramble to throw a bunch of food in a takeaway. At this point it is close to midnight. We look in the bag and there was one item (a wrap) we did not order and they put fried rice in our bag and not Jollof which is what we ordered. So from my interpretation of the interaction between the waitress and the kitchen staff it seemed they saw we were leaving and wanted to get our money so they threw a bunch of random food in a bag. Nevertheless the stew we did order was the worst I have ever had. It was so close tasting and smelling to dog food that I had to throw it in the bin. The roll we ate was stale and the fried rice was cold and unflavoured. If it wasn’t for the pea sized thimble of Pepe that was finished in one mouthful otherwise it would have been completely flavourless and dry.

Needless to say I’m never going here again. The waitress was working too hard and I really felt bad for her considering the pressure she was under. However, we came to eat at 9pm and left close to 12am with the wrong food. I don’t mean to bring you down but management need to do better. Your poor staff are running of their feet for god knows how many hours before we arrived. A venue charging 50 Cedi for entry and taking donations for the performance (which was amazing) kind of seems redundant If you came to eat and you are sitting their starving for over 2 hours. Hire more staff, pay your workers and buy better ingredients. Overpriced and underdelivered.

#1 worst food experience in Ghana for...
