So we visited this place for dinner on the 25th of January 2020, and when we got there we were asked if we had called to make a reservation earlier, we hadn't, so my husband spoke with them and they directed us to a table on the top floor balcony facing the golf park. We assumed all tables downstairs were reserved and went upstairs to sit at the table they directed us to. We were separated by a glass partition from where some waiters were.
We sat there with the menu for a good while (about 30 minutes) and we still had not been attended to by any of the waiters, it was as if we did not even exist up there. We watched as a group of white guys came in and spoke with them to secure a table downstairs.
So my husband stood up and went in there to check what the hold up was about and found them hanging out in a group some chatting while others were also just standing around these white guys as if they were on standby for any orders.
My husband brought one of the waiters to take our order and the waiter disappeared once again, leaving us there for over 30 minutes. You could literally overhear them chit chatting and see them still hanging around these white guys.
My husband drew the attention of the waiters once again and it was as if they had only just remembered we were there waiting for our food. Our drinks came, and the food followed.
Again, we requested for the bill and had to sit there for about 30 minutes waiting. We saw the waiter and signalled him, he then asked "you still haven't received your bill"? We simply responded as we just wanted to leave the place at this point.
10 minutes later, another waiter brought our bill which was 388 cedis, we gave 400 cedis and proceeded to leave. It was really downing that these people made us feel like the white people were priority and they could do without us. I really hate that this looks like the usual "our own people treat white people better" rant but such an experience takes you through a boatload of unwanted emotions. Overall, the experience was just really disappointing and we didn't expect that from such a...
Read moreI went to a meeting at Polo club and decided to take my little one to the park area. Whilst at the park his nanny was seated with all our bags and his iPad. She went to the toilet for 3 mins when we walked over and she came back from the toilet we discovered that his iPad was missing. There was no one else but the staff and us there at the time. The staff barely even tried to look for the iPad when we let them know that it was missing. When we asked for the camera footage we were told that there was only one camera and it didn’t face the direction of the incident, then we were told that none of the cameras were working. We asked if we could see us entering the premises to confirm that we walked in with it, in case it was an oversight but again no camera. So this supposed to be high end restaurant in the heart of Accra, with predominantly expats and tourists as their main guest has limited or 0 cameras on the premises and the ones that are there do not work. This is not a place to feel safe and definitely not one to visit or take your family to. Staff can steal your items and there isn’t much you can do or...
Read moreThis is my second visit after the improved menu. I noticed there’s also a privée room for groups. Beautiful views of the polo grounds when seated at the balcony area. We ordered the sliders and the calamari for starters. The sliders were delicious. The calamari however was charred and tasted bitter. We had the filet de boeuf and lamb rack for mains. We wanted the temperature medium but the proteins were served well done. The mashed potato was creamy. The grilled vegetables however, were charred and dry. The balsamic vinegar drizzle addition helped. We were expecting a lamb rack as stated on the menu but it came chopped. The lamb was well seasoned and juicy. Their pepper corn sauce is really good. The chocolate lava cake was delicious! I went back few weeks after to order a take out and sat at the bar. Alexi waited on me. He was professional and helpful by suggesting meals that may appeal to me. He also helped me with my takeout bag by walking me to the car. Thank you Alexi! (I hope I got the spelling right) This place tends to fill up fast especially at night. Do book in advance so you can request for...
