My friend convinced me to try Thai food, so last month we visited Thai House in East Legon. The space is filled with lush greenery, making it perfect for those who appreciate an outdoorsy, nature-inspired aesthetic. The abundance of plants creates a serene and relaxing atmosphere that enhances the dining experience.
One delightful aspect of Thai House is that all their teas are complimentary. My friend and I decided to try the blue flower tea. The menu highlighted several health benefits of this tea, such as its ability to fight free radicals, reduce the risk of heart disease and stroke, among others. We were also given limes to add to the tea, which added a refreshing twist.
As someone who isn't particularly fond of tea, I found the blue flower tea to be average and would rate it a 5/10. However, my friend, who is a big tea enthusiast, thoroughly enjoyed it and rated it a 7.5/10.
When it came to the food, I decided to try the chicken Pad Thai noodles. This dish consists of stir-fried rice noodles with a tangy sour sauce, eggs, cabbage, spring onions, and tofu, served with lime, chili powder, and peanuts on the side. The portion size was generous, and my friend and I were both satisfied. I particularly enjoyed the balance of flavors, especially the addition of lime, which enhanced the overall taste. I would give this dish an 8/10. The only minor drawback was that the peanuts became a bit overwhelming after a while, but since they were served on the side, it was easy to set them aside.
My friend opted for the seafood Tom Yum soup, which is a spicy and sour soup featuring mushrooms, lemongrass, onions, kaffir lime leaves, and a mix of seafood. This dish also came in a large portion, and we found ourselves struggling to finish it. The soup was packed with flavorful spices and had a perfect balance of heat. I enjoyed it and would also rate it an 8/10.
For anyone looking to try Thai food, I highly recommend Thai House for its excellent service, appealing aesthetics, delicious food, and generous portions. I’ll definitely be back to try...
Read moreWhew ... I had an all in one experience here at Thai House. My friend asked if I wanted to get a massage when I was in Ghana and I said absolutely. What I didn't know was that it was a full on restaurant and massage parlor. When I got there I was hungry from not having breakfast so I ordered spring rolls and red curry with a Thai Iced Tea. Now it's important to note for the Thai Iced Tea lovers like myself, they are not the same as what we're served in the USA. But it was equally as good! The food also did what it needed to do to satisfy my taste and cravings.
But the massage was literally what made this entire visit. My masseuse Jit was absolutely phenomenal. I asked for a deep tissue, but this was an acrobatic massage like I've never had before. My only regret is not going for the full 2 hours I initially planned because this was hands worth every minute and the price. After all of this (food + massage), I paid just about $40 USD. Literally...
Read moreI was so excited to get Thai food and a Thai massage but I was left disappointed. The service was very nice but besides that everything else was very bland. The noodles and the scrimp were overcooked and soggy and the spring rolls had no flavor. I also ordered my food very spicy and it was if it had no spice at all. I had to add extra spices, which was the only time I enjoyed my meal because the flavor of the spice was tasty. I did however like the Tom Yum soup.
The massage was just OK. Now I’m a massage enthusiast who gets massages once or twice a month at home, and Thai massage with the stretching is one of my favorites but this one left me wondering if they were truly trained or just doing it because they are Thai, which for this type of massage is quite dangerous. I felt at one point she was going to pop my knee and I’m a flexible yogi.
I wouldn’t...
