Lourdas Mare — Restaurant in Argostoli Municipality

Stumbled on this place late one afternoon looking for a bite as many places nearby were closed or hadn't opened for the season and it was the best decision we made that day. Lovely staff and service, the main gentleman there took time to teach us Greek and tell us all kinds of cool stories about his time on the island and most importantly, served up one of the best Chicken Gyros we've had on the island with beautifully sliced pieces of chicken and seasoned fries. Ended up going there again a few nights later when grabbing some late dinner before driving back to the resort. This restaurant is the best ! We stayed at Villa Paloma right next door for 10 days and we ate there almost every other day. Sophia became like a family member to us ! She is so sweet and was great with our kids. They even asked us to go see Sophia every night. It will be very hard to leave this place as we made so many beautiful lifelong memories. As for the food - world class. You can feel the love and the dedication to always offer their best in every bite. This is as real and as true of a review as it could get. I will start by saying that I am originally Greek and have relatively high expectations from basic taverns in touristic areas.

Our (Greek) food is amazing and it makes me a little sad when I am being served canned dolmadakia (asked if they are home-made...) and a mousaka that I had a hard time to enjoy.

To be fair we went at the end of the day and staff were probably tired and I could understand the delays.

Atmosphere was very nice, right by the beach!

This is the only slightly negative review I have left for the entire week I have stayed...
