I don't like to write bad reviews or not so positive ones, but now I feel that I have to. 😁 We are two adults and a 4 year old kid. We went for a bite at this tavern because we were on the beach next to it. We had: "Seafood Rissotto" - for me. What I can say is that if this would have been the first time when I had seafood, there would not be a second. 😁 Except the mussels, shrimps and calamari, there was a big prawn on top of the dish, probably to garnish it. It wasn't properly washed, boiled or whatever is the process for cooking a prawn. It had that sand feeling when I was chewing it. Except this, the taste of the whole dish (the word taste for sure it is too much) was like boiled water from a pond. So I think that the seafood was only boiled and not cooked. "Prawns Saganaki" - one of the best dishes in Greece if you are not unlucky like us last night. Of course all the prawns were like the one in my dish, unwashed, full of sand. "Tzatziki" - not even this simple dish they were not able to do it right. "Greek salad" - the only good thing about this salad is that it didn't had any Greeks in it. 😁 But it also didn't had olive oil, balsamic vinegar or anything else. There were only the vegetables. I thought that this is their way of letting you add how much oil and vinegar you want, but they didn't bother to bring any to the table. The positive thing is that we had salt and pepper on the table. "Spaghetti Bolognese" - for the kid. She ate like 30-40% out of the dish. It is the usual amount for her. We also taste it but we didn't like it. Maybe we were already influenced by the other not so tasty things. So, overall, it was one of the worst experiences that we had in Greece. Actually I think that there are a total of 3 bad restaurant experiences for us in Greece, and this is one of them. For sure we will never go back there again. The service was normal but not like at the other Greek restaurants, or like that friendly usual feeling that you get in a Greek tavern. If you want to have a good experience, ask around. The local people will give you the best input, especially the host of your...

Delicate Palates Beware: Inconsistent Quality Control During our recent visit to Lovidis Taverna, we encountered some unsettling issues with our dishes. Unfortunately, our kleftico dish contained hair pieces, while a "calamari bone" (as per their explanation) made its way into the calamari plate. This lack of quality control left us with a less than satisfying dining experience.
Slow Service and Inattentive Staff One aspect that significantly impacted our visit was the noticeable lack of attentive service. Throughout the meal, we faced prolonged delays and instances where we were unintentionally ignored by the staff. This level of inattentiveness did not match our expectations and dampened the overall dining experience.
Order Confusion: Mixed-up Orders and Frustration Regrettably, another area of concern arose when our orders were mixed up. It was disheartening to receive dishes we didn't order while our original selections ended up at neighboring tables. Such mishaps not only caused frustration but also disrupted the flow of our meal.
Limited Positive: A Scenic View Amidst the Disappointments Despite the aforementioned shortcomings, it's important to mention that the restaurant does boast a stunning view of the sea. The scenic backdrop provided some solace amidst our dining frustrations. However, it's essential to weigh this positive aspect against the overall experience.
Room for Improvement: Lackluster Service and Culinary Oversights In reflection, our second visit to Lovidis Taverna left much to be desired. The unfortunate incidents with hair in our kleftico dish and the unexpected "calamari bone" in the calamari plate significantly impacted our appetite and enjoyment. Combined with the slow and inattentive service, it became clear that improvements in both culinary quality and service are necessary to enhance the overall...
Read moreThe main selling point for this restaurant is the view. Otherwise I wouldn’t say it’s worth the visit. The food is okay. I would recommend the grilled octopus but when I asked the waitress if it was good she seemed dubious although it was actually the best meal of our groups orders. It seemed the waitresses weren't very knowledgeable about the Menu. The service was quite poor. Our mains came out while our plates from our starters were still in front of us. The table was crammed with empty glasses for most of the meal. Most people were having to flail their arms in the air to get the waitress’ attention. The two waitresses serving didn’t seem to care much about the tables present and seemed more interested in setting up new tables for the next day. When they cleared our main meal plates the waitress fed the scraps to the stray cats in front of us which is just a bizarre thing to do while guests are still there and watching. The bathrooms were quite dirty too. Overall I wouldn’t recommend this restaurant. When most of the restaurants have a very similar menu on the island, it’s really the service that can make the difference on whether you return or not and it was...
