25 yrs ago, we went to Skala in Kefalonia for our honeymoon, we found a fantastic little taverna not far from our hotel and it very quickly became our local. The staff (especially Spiros) were amazing and we loved every minute spent there 😁 roll on 25 yrs and we went back to Skala for our silver anniversary, alas our little taverna was no longer there but as we walked around we decided to visit this beach bar, as we sat there having a refreshing beer I asked my husband what he thought Spiros would now look like? After listening to his reply I pointed over to a gentleman who was sat near the end of the bar and said "a little like him then" he looked over and said " I think you're right, yes I think that's Spiros!!". As we continued to sit there, this particular gentleman approached, my husband said his name, he looked over and said yes, we told him the tale of our honeymoon and how we spent most of our time in his taverna all that time ago, enjoying their company as well as several shots (green frog's 🐸), he soon made us feel at home in his beach bar just like he did on our honeymoon. Visited in August 2022 and stayed all day. If you come early, you get a pick of chairs and parasols (we paid 15 for two chairs and an umbrella, which is pricier that other places on Skala Beach and a lot pricier that on other beaches) and can strategically pick the ones that will give you shade throughout the day. The bar has a nice choice of drinks, we didn't eat there, but the menu looked good. We only spent that one day on Skala Beach and it was a bit stormy. The beach is pebbly, so grab your water shoes if your feet are sensetive. Also, be prepared for fish-pedicure once in the water - every now and then you will feel little fishes pecking at your legs.
