Wow, what a lovely place. We did the touristy thing and walked from Argostoli, along the De Bosset bridge. However, once at the end, we didn't head back, but kept going a further 300 mtrs or so and decided to call in at The Yard cafe bar on the left opposite the cemetery. We sat outside and were soon greeted politely by a member of staff, who advised us that it was much cooler on the terrace at the back. She was right. There was a lovely breeze. We ordered the Houllimi salad, Club sandwich classic, and drinks. The service and food were excellent. Good portion sizes and very well presented. The decor was very stylish, trendy, and very well done. There is a little playground for toddlers accessed from the back terrace and goats in the field. Great for families with young children. There is also off-road parking at the back. We will definitely be visiting here again. If you are visiting Argostoli, why not have a walk along the bridge? See if you can spot the turtles and fish, then head on to this gem of a place. Small places like this need the custom of tourists, so please give it a try. It's...
Read moreStopped here 3x times this week as the food and ambience and views are just perfect! Started with a quick drink stop and was served homemade cake to try! Next visit a breakfast stop with delicious scrambled eggs and bacon pieces on toast beautifully seasoned and presented! Sorry ate it before I remembered photo! It looked too good! Finally stopped at the end of a days sightseeing to have early dinner. Did two things I dont usually do; firstly ordered a burger (not my preferred dinner) next ordered their largest signature burger “The Yard” was promised I would NOT regret it! The lovely waitress was 100% correct. The burger is a double stack with a perfectly cooked egg, bacon, lettuce, tomatoes, sweet onions, cheese and Yard sauce which brought all the flavours together in a brioche bun. Absolute masterpiece. Meat is superb quality, seasoned with herbs and coked to perfection. Thank you chef a wonderful way to end the day! Please try for yourselves. I promise you will NOT be...
Read moreLooks great and is a nice little place to sit and have brunch. Unfortunately only one waiter meaning everything is quite slow and doesn’t come all at once. We had the breakfast tower for two, looks great at first but the bread is cheap, fried eggs when it says poached, cheap mini sausages and packet meats. Pancakes were ok. Absolutely not worth the money anyway and could be so much better as it’s a good enough idea. Also had some cheese croquettes, very average, could have had a dipping sauce and be made better, just comes on a single salad leaf, presentation-wise the food was fine. A little disappointed in all honesty. They apologised for the wait as it was busy but really there were plenty of free tables and just not enough staff. I feel they made the place look nice but then forgot about the food quality. Staff were nice and friendly and that saved it from a...
