Hands down the best restaurant I visited in Argostoli for my birthday. I absolutely urge you to go there. The quality of the food was truly astounding. I could feel the flavours dancing and singing on my tongue with every bite. I had to include a photo of how much I cleaned my plate. The food was too good to leave anything behind. I would’ve eaten the fish bones too if they were edible because the flavour was just incredible. I ordered the sea bass plus grill prawns. I finished everything. Even the salad tasted heavenly. The starter (crab croquettes and feta cheese in a pastry topped with honey) set the mood and I knew I was in for an amazing meal. I had the best sleep of my life after finishing this food. Having visited Kefalonia for over 30 years and quite well known on the island this is the first time ever I have been ask to leave a tip ☹️. If I pay by card I always leave a cash tip for the waiters in a lot of tavernas now on the island the owners pocket all the tips when tips are left by card, so I was quite surprised to be asked if I wanted to leave a tip, sorry but no for asking. And to be honest the food was nothing special, in fact we left the majority of the food and politely said we were full. So I fail to understand all the good reviews on food. Oh I owned and built a very successful restaurant in the U.K. so I do have some knowledge. Back to the tipping, I always tip I even give the cleaning ladies a tip we’re ever I stay. My family and I were literally kicking ourselves that we had not visited this restaurant sooner! This is our twentieth summer in Kefalonia and only this year we visited Ampelaki. The restaurant is out of the way, further up the seafront towards Fanari, but well worth walking or driving up to. Firstly, the service is outstanding: very attentive and thoughtful. The menu offers a great variety with some different options from other tavernas - which is nice if you want something Greek but slightly different. They also cater well for vegetarians and vegans. The food is extremely fresh, cooked to order and plentiful. We truly had the most delightful evening.
