AGORA — Restaurant in Athens

Agora used to be at the decade of 80's a delicatessen store operated by three brothers they named it select,, in the Millennium renovated to a classy restaurant named Select also, then changed to Agora ,keeping the strict style of an international restaurant. The plates are very delicious! Salads pastas,fish! Or you can visit for an iced cappuccino! Service is little awkward cause it is over acting with strict and good manners,and ettiquette etc and you can't relaxed exactly and enjoy your meal. Maybe a much more friendly approach or human approach could help the customers relax while eating. Prices are a little bit overpriced,ik I understand there might be a chef instead of a cook, this why you choose this place rarely to dinner and not occasionally,if prices were a little but lower we could afford eating there twice a week than twice a year,two people two main dishes one salad two ice creams an a beer 85 euros... the neighborhood is really approachable ,right next to metro of Ampelokipoi, it is not Kolonaki or Kifissia ( who dish rates are too high for not particular reason) , it is at a very simple low central area. So maybe prices could be a little lower and this place could be full :) you can try it once, if you don't care the stiff personnel is,you might enjoy...

This restaurant completely exceeded our expectations! We had our flight out to Corfu cancelled and had to stay nearby last minute and picked this spot at random. I’m so glad we did because the food was absolutely incredible. So fresh, flavorful, and beautifully prepared. They had an excellent selection of local Greek wines, and every glass we tried was amazing. We ordered a little bit of everything and ended up with so much food for the price. We definitely over-ordered, but in the best possible way!

The hospitality here is unmatched. The staff took such wonderful care of us, and we got to chatting with the manager, who was incredibly warm and welcoming, during our meal. After we had finished eating, they surprised us with rose ice cream on the house! I honestly think it was the best rose ice cream I’ve ever had. Such a treat!

The ambiance is equally special, a tropical yet luxurious vibe that makes the whole experience even better. I would highly recommend this spot to anyone visiting Athens. We can’t wait...

Excellent food, excellent service!! I am really pleased with every we chose. The prices are of a good restaurant but there are prices for every taste and pocket (nothing exaggerating for someone who wants to experience the place but keep it reasonable at the same time). We had a salad with prosciutto which was amazing, risotto with mushrooms and nioki with meat, both of those plates were perfect for me. However, the plate that amazed me more were the musaka croquettes, it was as if you were eating the same dish of musaka , you could taste every single ingredient in this croquette! And the yogurt sauce matched totally with the croquette. I have to mention also that in the end we decided to have some dessert (milfeille with caramel) and the restaurant, while serving it, told as that it was on the house (very nice of them).
