Kyveli — Restaurant in Athens

We arrived at the place in rush hour and we decided to sit in this restaurant named kiveli because it was the only place that had available sits.but we sadly understood why there were so much available sits very late. after 10 minutes they finally brought us the menu and water.we decided to order and as the plates where coming the disappointment came too plate after plate it was awful the only thing that got out attention was the decoration of the salad because it reminded as of the 90s era after that we ordered mushrooms with melted cheese on top a plate that they should have named mushroom soup with blue cheese the mushrooms were days old and they were literally swimming in heavy cream with a taste of blue cheese in it we barely touched them.and when we thought that we tasted their worst plate they managed to change that by bringing the next plate chiken harakiri its what we will call it little chiken bites hanging from a metal thing totally burned and black we tried to eat it but we didnt make it.the night had a nice ending when the bill came they didnt even bring as the coupon.in conclusion having visited the place i have to say with conviction that kiveli was our worst choice. The only reason to visit the place is to read their menu it was so confusing they got confused and brought us the greek menu first and then we had to wait another 10 minutes to bring us the english one the way that they have transletad the plates in english...

Where do I start from. It was a Sunday late afternoon and early evening. Therefore it was not crowded whatsoever. There was a party of 5 of us including two kids. We waited for a waiter a little bit and we ordered our food with some appetizers and salad and some drinks. They brought us appetizers so fast that we could not finish the first ones brought. It felt like an eating contest. After a while I asked what happened to homemade sausages and my pork medallions in honey sauce we ordered. Waiter told us that there was no such order. It was very strange since first waiter that took our order even repeated by reading what we ordered just to confirm the order. At the end I decided thati will not even eat that order since it was at least 30 minutes after we finished with appetizers. I asked for the bill and paid. My wife though that bill was a bit high for the food we ate and asked for the bill. Waiter came and told us that he billed me for the food at next table to ours and brought me back cash of some 10+ Euros. I would be OK if it was extremely heavy traffic at the time, but sine it was pretty slow at the time some better attention was in order. By the way food was OK and Popeye salad was great. Just in case you decide to visit this establishment. P.S.- Make sure that they take your order on paper and not on cell phone since you might be missing...

18-8-2022 αποφάσισα λόγω των γενεθλίων μου να κάνω κράτηση (για 5 ΑΤΟΜΑ) 14.30 στο συγκεκριμένο μαγαζί (για πρώτη φορά). Αφού επικοινώνησα τηλεφωνικά για την διαθεσιμότητα της κράτησης, ρώτησα εάν ο χώρος κλιματίζεται διότι έκανε πάρα πολύ ζέστη εκείνη την ημέρα (37-38 βαθμούς) το οποίο και μου επιβεβαίωσαν (ότι κλιματίζεται) και έγινε η κράτηση στο εσωτερικό. Η πρώτη απογοήτευση ήρθε όταν φτάσαμε, στον εσωτερικό χώρο η θερμοκρασία ήταν ίδια με τον εξωτερικό παρότι λειτουργούσε το κλιματιστικό αλλά από ότι φαίνεται και μετά από παράκληση δική μας να το κατεβάσουν λίγο (στην ψύξη) και τις φιλότιμες προσπάθειες του προσωπικού να μας εξυπηρετήσει το κλιματιστικό συνέχιζε να μην αποκρίνεται (κακοσυντηρημένο, κακορυθμισμένο, χαλασμένο …δεν ξέρω, κλιματισμός ΔΕΝ ΥΠΗΡΧΕ) ή καθόσουν έξω ή μέσα ήταν το ίδιο και επειδή ατμίζαμε κάποιοι και απαγορεύεται σε εσωτ. χώρους (ηλ τσιγάρο) το διαπιστώσαμε στο μπες – βγες για να ατμίσουμε. Η δεύτερη απογοήτευση ήρθε όταν ήρθαν τα πιάτα – συρμάτινα καλαθάκια που παραγγείλαμε. Σας θυμίζω ότι η κράτηση ήταν για 5 ΑΤΟΜΑ και από τα (6-7) περίπου πιάτα – συρμάτινα καλαθάκια που παραγγείλαμε τα περισσότερα ήταν σε τεμάχια (δηλ. 4 κεφτεδάκια, 4 κολοκυθοκεφτεδάκια, κ.ο.κ. ΟΛΑ 4 ΤΕΜΑΧΙΑ) και σε μέγεθος που για εμένα ήταν ατομικό δηλ. το έτρωγες μόνος σου (μικρά σε μέγεθος τεμάχια)! Η αμηχανία σε όλους μας ήταν μεγάλη και εμφανής! Το 4ο τεμάχιο σε κάθε πιάτο - συρμάτινο πανεράκι δεν το έτρωγε κανένας. Οι γεύσεις ήταν πολύ ωραίες σε ότι παραγγείλαμε αλλά οι μερίδες ήταν πολύ μίζερες! (υποκειμενικό και το ωραίο και το μίζερο). Η τρίτη απογοήτευση ήρθε με την ολοκλήρωση αυτού του τραπεζιού ζητώντας το λογαριασμό, μετά από την ταλαιπωρίας μας ποιος από τους 5 θα φάει το 4ο κομμάτι… από ότι έχει μείνει, μπες – βγες να ατμίσεις σε περιβάλλον με ίδια θερμοκρασία (μέσα –έξω ζέστη!!!) -που καλύτερα να καθόμασταν έξω – ήρθε και ο λογαριασμός (άνευ γλυκού) να συσκευάσει το πακέτο των απογοητεύσεων για να το πάρουμε στο σπίτι. Δεν υπήρχε καμία αρμονία το τι φάγαμε με το τι πληρώσαμε σε ότι αφορά την ποσότητα!!! Δεν θα το πρότεινα το συγκεκριμένο μαγαζί σε γνωστό μου, φύγαμε ιδρωμένοι , νηστικοί , απογοητευμένοι και ακριβό…χρεωμένοι αν είναι...
