Louvron — Restaurant in Athens

We went there on a Sunday afternoon for a late lunch. I give the place 2 stars because the personel is very friendly and polite and the place itself is quite pleasant. The beer and wine selection is good too but the food is simply bad. I don't like giving negative reviews but the food there was not good at all. The menu gives the impression of traditional greek cuisine with exotic twists with weird ingredients like coconut yoghurt and peach sauces but the execution is very poor. I am sure that most of the things I tasted were frozen and pre-cooked or came from cans and the combinations they dare simply don't work. In my opinion, greek 'mezedes' are excellent as they are and if you don't first master their preparation in the traditional manner then you should not stray far. I won't be going back there for food. Maybe a coffee or a glass of wine but definitely not...

Staff took very long to even take our order, and gave us an old version of menu at first. After we got the latest menu and ordered, food came quick though and was good and cheap. Outside area looked great at first but after 5 minutes I couldn't stand the noise the other guests were making and so many of them were smoking. I think banning smoking and putting less tables outside, making it less crowded, would fix the slightly unbearable...

Excellent. The food is mesmerisingly good, the atmosphere outside in that little patio / garden is superb — and the service is great too. We literally ordered the entire menu of mezze (no photos taken of the other plates), and each of them was a dream to dine on. The wine was excellent as well, can only recommend to give it a shot.
