Priamos — Hotel in Athens

I called one week before my arrival to make a reservation for a 4 night stay, they told me that they cannot reserve me a room via telephone and they advised me that I should do it on my arrival. What if I go there and there is no availability? I was also eligible for a birthday(50% off) and a student (30%) discount, the receptionist said that they do not offer students discounts anymore and they only offer 30% of to 20-23 years old, that's fine as I am in that age range. I explained her that I am not from Greece and I have to reserve a room before my arrival. She insisted that she cannot. This is so unprofessional, how can they accept reservations from Booking and not from the phone? She also told me to call later as she was busy and had customers there, I told her yes I understand and now she is busy helping me from the phone, same thing. I made a reservation from booking but I was very pissed, so I called their other Hotel Priamos in ilioupoli, explained them the situation, they tried to help me to make a reservation there through them to Pagkrati but they insisted that they cannot. The staff in ilioupoli was very profession and they reserved me a room there. We booked this hotel due to it's location and on arrival was extremely perturbed by the range of objects and outfits of a sexual nature in the lobby, a darkened, dimly lit room to the left and the display of lubricant for sale at the reception area! ||||When I asked the very pleasant receptionist what type of hotel this was, she advised me that it was an adults' hotel where the rooms were individually themed. It was however clearly some type of brothel, and the fact that a prostitute arrived as we were going out for some sight seeing within 20 minutes of arrival only confirmed my suspicions. The hotel has a wholly seedy feel to it, it has a dubious aroma, I couldn't relax at all and could not wait to check out the following morning after a terrible night's sleep due to the number of noises and the general feeling of unease. I would never go back there and would happily have paid double for a better hotel. N.B: This is a by the hour/hot sheets hotel. I missed that fact when booking and the experience was rather "interesting".||Smoking is allowed throughout the hotel, including all rooms. Our room had a heavy after odor of smoke and the only window was taped over and closed with a curtain. ||The pillows were hard as rocks and a bit uncomfortable. In the shower, there was no high mount for the shower, so you have to hold it above your head.||The furniture while mostly present looks old and beat up. A drawer next to the bed was falling out of its fixtures. ||Luckily, the AC worked and it was the only way to get fresh air into the room, we were running it 24/7 to at least get rid of the smoke...
