I recently dined at Restaurant Cupola in Pagrati, and I have to say that I was quite disappointed with my experience. The most glaring issue was their inflexible policy when it came to modifying dishes. It's baffling that in this day and age, a restaurant wouldn't allow customers to customize their meals by adding or excluding toppings or ingredients. This lack of flexibility really took away from the dining experience.
To make matters worse, the service was incredibly slow. I had to wait a whopping 45 minutes for my pasta dish to be served after the initial dishes, which is completely unacceptable, especially considering the restaurant's average cost is around 30 euros per person. Waiting that long for food is frustrating and detracted from the overall enjoyment of the meal.
Even the simplest options, like the margarita pizza, didn't offer the option to add extra toppings. This lack of customization makes it difficult for customers to tailor their meals to their preferences, which is something most modern restaurants should offer.
Furthermore, it seemed like the food was pre-portioned and pre-prepared, which is surprising for a restaurant with the price point they have. It felt like they were cutting corners and not putting in the effort to provide a truly exceptional dining experience.
Overall, my visit to Restaurant Cupola left me with a bad taste in my mouth, both figuratively and literally. The lack of flexibility in customizing dishes, slow service, and seemingly pre-prepared food make it hard to justify the average cost of 30 euros per person. I would hesitate to recommend this restaurant to others based on...
Read moreno longer as it used to be: it looks like it is tradition in Athens to start well and thetake the downhill. We went for my daughter’s birthday.
Just to clarify I am Italian so I really know very well about the food of my country which used to be very well represented here.
The Tagliata for 24€ was a shame: presentation 5/10, taste 6/10. The Tomino was unedible. We had a very unpleasant episode with the pizza that my daughter (6 years old) had ordered (and pizza is her favourite food when we go out so she was very disappointed):
The waiter asked us if my daughter had any allergy to mushrooms, because the cook had allegedly “touched” mushrooms before making her pizza.
We discover it was pure BS when the pizza arrived at our table: There were clearly cooked mushrooms in it, Which means they had made a mistake and they had just removed the mushrooms!
Shame on Cupola for not being able to simply make a pizza as it should have been, only looking at the profit.
Also worth mentioning the pizza was so thin in the middle that the humidity had soaked it so much that looked undercooked. 14€.

Read moreLast Sunday I booked at this restaurant as I often do. in these years I have never had any problems but what happened last Sunday let me indignant. I was kicked out of the restaurant because I was with my little dog (as always!) saying that "IT'S FORBIDDEN BY THE GREEK" have animals inside the restaurants (I doubt since I have gone to several indoor restaurants with my little dog). I don't know what happened this time either they didn't understand me or I forgot to mention it when booking, but the thing that disappointed me the most was that they didn't try in any way to find a solution, for example an outdoor table as they thought I was a one-time customer, a tourist. I will tell all my friends never to go into that restaurant again and so will I! Think about this... next time try to find an alternative solution it's always the best way to stay...
