San Pallia Fish Tavern – A Culinary Gem with Heart
Our visit to San Pallia Fish Tavern was nothing short of unforgettable. Katherine and her husband were absolutely amazing—warm, welcoming, and passionate about their food. From the moment we arrived, we felt like part of their family.
The homemade dishes were out of this world. Their taramosalata was hands-down one of the best we've ever tasted—perfectly balanced and full of flavor. The fish, fried calamari, fresh salads, and that unforgettable feta cheese wrapped in filo pastry and drizzled with Greek honey… absolutely delectable. Every bite was a celebration of authentic Greek cooking.
What makes this place even more special is their flexibility—they also own the restaurant across the street that specializes in meats and souvlaki, and they’ll bring over whatever you’re craving. It’s like having two incredible menus in one spot!
We loved it so much, we went back a second time—and actually walked a full hour just to get there. That’s how good the food was. And the prices? Crazy affordable, especially considering the generous portions and outstanding quality.
We’re so grateful to have met Katherine and her husband. Their hospitality made us feel like family, and we’ll cherish the experience forever.
Next time we’re in Greece—and especially in Athens—San Pallia Fish Tavern will be one of our first stops. Tasso and family from Canada thank you for the unforgettable meals...
Read moreEditing my review after doing some more research. The menu item listed as Μοσχαρισια μπριζολα γαλακτος in Greek literally means Beef milk steak in english. I asked the waitress if it was pork because of the color but she said it was beef but could not explain further in English. It did taste like beef but the color really threw me off. Whatever it was it was good 🤷🏻♂️. My wife ordered the pork gyro and she liked it a lot. The food was reasonably priced and would...
Read moreMy daughter and I discovered this restaurant when we were staying at the Athens Avenue hotel in April. It’s the best restaurant in the area! Delicious food. Excellent portion sizes for the price and a delightful owner/waiter. I think his son might be the chef — he does the cooking at a takeaway restaurant across the street & then walks it across the street. The most reasonably priced restaurant we found in the area. If you want a reasonably priced excellent meal & you’re staying at one of the nearby hotels, this is the...
