Very bad experience
Although I don't like to write bad reviews, I still want to share a bad experience in this restaurant for the sake of future visitors and the restaurant itself. We chose this restaurant because of its very interesting interior as well as its proximity to the apartment where we were staying. We had a reservation and when we arrived in front of the restaurant at the agreed time we were told to wait for the lady in charge of reservations. Another couple was waiting in front of the restaurant also. When the lady in charge of reservations appeared, the couple who were waiting said they didn't have a reservation, to which she told them in English that they couldn't come in and that there was no room. The man then whispered something in her ear, and she turned to us asking if we had a reservation. When she found us in the reservation book, she led us to our table and there we found the first unpleasant surprise, that the table was unprepared in one corner in a very busy position and when we politely showed slight dissatisfaction with the location of the table, the lady in charge of reservations apologized that the table was not prepared and left us (although there were still empty tables in that room, which remained empty until the end of the evening!?). A minute later, the same couple enters the restaurant with the lady in charge of reservations and she takes them to another adjacent room. My wife immediately realized the situation, she looked and saw that the lady had taken them to an already prepared table that was obviously prepared for us, but the lady made a change and sent us to the corner like "bad pupil" and assigned our table to that couple. After that comes another unpleasant surprise, we waited 30 minutes for the waiter to come and make the order. We received the ordered dishes and drinks exactly one hour after we entered the restaurant (and the couple who did not have a reservation and who sat at "our" table received their order 20 minutes before us. And the third unpleasant surprise, when I asked for the bill, the waiter brought me the same. After we saw the price my wife made a surprised expression which the waiter noticed and after a few minutes he came and brought us another bill with the correct and smaller amount than the first bill he brought with an apology for switching bills and tables!? Finally about the food - DE GUSTIBUS NON DISPUTABAT. We all like different tastes, but unfortunately even the best food and tastes lose their significance and quality after poorly organized work and unsatisfactory service. The chef's effort to be original is visible, but I, for one, did not like the grapes in the Greek salad... Maybe we were just unlucky that night, but unfortunately I had to share this experience because in all the other restaurants and taverns on beautiful Chios, we had excellent service and enjoyed...
Read moreThere is a totally undeserved hype about this place. The only good part of the hype is its setting. The service was scandalous. We were brought water after half an hour and told to scan for the menu. We waived and told to 4 different waiters that we were ready to order but only after an hour someone actually took our order. The dishes began arriving after two hours only after we made a scene and even then not paired. Local notables were prioritised. Waiter just drops the dishes on the table. Food was mediocre at best but definitely overpriced. Fish carpaccio looked like fish soup. Baked beans tasted from the can with added slices of packaged smoke mackerel and mushroom marinated from a cheap supermarket jar. Tasted disgusting. The manager apologised and offered free desert or to take 8 euro from our bill for the cheapest dish (sic). The worst experience in Greece ever. Beware of this scam of a restaurant!
I wish the owner/manager used their time to improve their service and cuisine instead of writing lengthy responses to negative reviews. All my claims were based on facts and were noted to the manager directly and personally. The only time someone talked to us before our complaint was when manager came in to ask for a Peugeot car incorrectly parked. All the waiting times mentioned in the review were shared with the manager and thus he apologised. An offer of treat or 8 euro payback is not a proper apology for starving your customers and ruining their evening. Thanks God the people and tavernas of Chios are wonderful and this restaurant is the only black sheep...
Read moreToday, we wanted to spend quality time with quality food and we went to this restaurant-actually I don’t wanna call restaurant because in the restaurant you can eat something- we ordered pasta. It’s so simple and basic food as you know.after 1.5 hours later we were still waiting. We called the waiters couple time and warned him but nothing changed. Of course we wanted to cancel our rest of orders but they charged us. We didn’t want to pay but I think he was the chief waiter turned a very rude man. If you have money to waste it, definitely best choice, and beside you wanna argue someone again it’s the best place. If you are hungry and this restaurant is only option highly recommend please be starving.
Updated! Regarding your lie comments! Our reservation was 8:30 and we were there 8:40 and receipt time is 10:30 which means we stayed your place more than 1.5 hours. This is your first lie. Second one, we were always kind and tried to explain the problems not only problem. Because we ordered also mezes and your waiter came to us and he said sorry to forgot to prepare food da. Means this is your fault! And last one if I compare your restaurant with a regular chain fast food business, 100% they can serve better than you. We only waited an apology, but you still dispute with us. And I never give up to update this comment until...
