ERATO WINE RESTAURANT — Restaurant in Dion - Olympos Municipality

The only reason I have given this place 2 stars is the central location in Litochoro. Otherwise, staff is ok but service is very slow. Food is not even average. Small portions for Greek standards. The (Erato) Salad had too much vinegar and no oil, and more breadcrumbs then tomatoes. Bifteki was well done but it consisted of only minced meat (no onions, no spices). Fries were cold. The smoked baked cheese was good but came in a very small portion. Natural (fresh) juice was anything but - it obviously came from a box/bottle, not from fresh fruit. After we finished, we waited 15 mins to get the bill. Judging from the overall experience, their expectation is probably that you'll not be returning. Which is totally accurate...

The food, once you get it, is great! The problem is the terrible delay in food even though the restaurant is less than half full. Some waiters are extremely polite, while some, for example the one who delivers the food, hands the plates to the guests themselves, they don't want to deal with creating space on the table. We waited 16 minutes for a waiter to come by. Another 20 for our order to be served. Icing on the cake? No receipt, and on a 21.50 tab we gave 30€, planning to leave a 3€ tip (~15%) despite the poor service. Little did we know the waitress went in, and that's the last we've seen of our money. Staff decided a 40% tip was mandatory apparently. I'd highly recommend...
