Polykarpos — Restaurant in Ioannina Municipality

Unfortunately didn’t get photos because the food smelled so good and I was so hungry that I tore into it before the wifey could get pics.

This place is great—the lady at the grill is a master; we ordered a few skewers of chicken, pork, and lamb and everything tasted fantastic. Meat was cooked perfectly with great char taste.

We got a side of the mustard sauce that other reviewers rave about. For the Americans reading this, it’s basically honey mustard. Good, but I didn’t see see what all the fuss was about. If you do order any sauces make sure they don’t drizzle it over the meat (the locals seem to prefer it this way, but the OG flavor is where it’s at).

Pricing was good. A bunch of skewers, side of parm fries, sauce, and two beers was around €16.

One thing to note: the menu isn’t in English, but was easy to figure out w/ Google Translate. The skewers come w/ some chips and bread so you don’t really need to order it separately.

AMAZING!!!!! We had the Dikavalo chicken and the pork. Super tasty, good quality meat, well cooked, nice light tortilla wrapping that makes a difference to an easier digestion compared to a usual Greek pita. But the hit was the mustard and the parmesan on top and the double meat souvlaki that filled us with protein instead of bread ;). We loved it and we are definitely coming back. Παραγγείλαμε πακέτο στις 11/04 εγώ και η παρεά μου, αρκετά άτομα. Ένας νεαρός που απ ό,τι κατάλαβα ήταν υπό εκπαίδευση έκαψε καμία δύο με αποτέλεσμα να αρχίσει ο πιθανότατα ιδιοκτήτης να φωνάζει έτσι ώστε να κομπλάρει όλο το προσωπικό. Το παλικάρι το έφερε σε πολύ δύσκολη θέση και μαζί του και εμάς εννοείται που ήμασταν μπροστά. Αποτέλεσμα αυτού είναι να πάρουμε την παραγγελία μας άρον άρον χωρίς να την ελέγξουμε και φτάνοντας σπίτι έλειπε μία πίτα και μία κοπέλα έμεινε νηστική.

Προσωπικά δεν θα εμπαινα καν στο κόπο να αφήσω αρνητική κριτική για μια δυο καμένες πίτες αλλά θεωρώ απαράδεκτη τέτοια συμπεριφορά άσχετα αν ήταν μπροστά πελάτες ή οχι κι ασχετα αν το παιδί ήταν νέος ή παλιός. Δεν πληρώνεται τζάμπα, δουλεύει. Αν δεν ξέρει κάποιος κανεις υπομονή να μάθει, αν παλι δεν μπορείς να περιμένεις ή δεν τα παίρνει τον απολύεις. Δεν τον ξεφτιλίζεις ούτε μιλας άσχημα. Μόνο τον εαυτό σου υποβιβάζεις σε επίπεδο απολίτιστου. Συν τοις άλλοις δημιουργείς τέτοια ατμόσφαιρα που αποσυντονίζεις και τους άλλους και κάνουν λάθος τη δουλεία τους.

Τα προιόντα τους ηταν ικανοποιητικά αλλα ούτε που με απασχολεί συγκριτικά με το όλο θέμα που με έκανε να χάσω...
