Unfortunately, on Saturday, October 7, 2023, around 9 p.m., at the Balsamico restaurant, they tried to cheat me by serving a dish twice as expensive as I ordered. My wife and I were sitting at the end table, close to the walls and the gate. We wanted to order a dish from the "dish of the day" offer, we decided on 1 mousaka, we asked the bearded waiter who served us for advice on the second course. The waiter suggested a beef steak and clearly said "it costs ten". Even before serving the dishes, the waitress brought us the previous bill/order , which I looked at, the bill for the steak was 20 euros. I reported it as an error, the waiter came and rudely exclaimed: "I said it's 20! And I immediately asked if I wanted to change the dish, I gave up and quickly ordered two mousakas instead of one so as not to deepen the conflict situation, and the waiter looked offended... It's very sad, especially since it was the first time I encountered such behavior during my 22 days of traveling around Greece... It turned out that such cases happen in the popular Balsamico, especially since there is a clear difference between the words "ten" and "twenty" in English and there can be no mistake in what I heard, and the waiter knew that we were looking for "dish of the day" among the items " which is about 8-10 euros per dish. The addition of 2 euros for water that I did not order was also not fair (I ordered wine, which was mistaken and instead of pink, it was initially red). I recently dined at Balsamico, a traditional Greek tavern, and unfortunately, my experience left much to be desired. We started with the traditional Greek sausage, which was overwhelmed by excessive spices and lacked any hint of the wine flavor that typically complements this dish. It was quite disappointing.

Next, we tried the stuffed kontosouvli chicken with cheese and vegetables. While it had potential, the overall taste was mediocre and didn’t justify the price we paid. Speaking of prices, I found the meal to be quite expensive for what we received.

The location was another downside. Situated at the corner of a busy street, the loud music made it difficult to enjoy our meal in peace. It really detracted from the atmosphere we were hoping for.

On a positive note, the staff at Balsamico were incredibly polite and attentive, which was the highlight of our visit. Their friendly service is truly what keeps this place afloat. We appreciated their efforts so much that we left a generous tip.
