Rakoumel — Restaurant in Ioannina Municipality

Update-Jul '23: Very good "mezedopilio", with great tastes, and fantastic selection of drinks. Staff, however , were not so warm and welcoming as other times. This time around we were faced with a more "this is how it is, take it or leave it" type of attitude.

Regardless, Rakoymel has a cosy atmosphere right at the place to be in Ioannina for an evening stroll. Definitely worth your visit. Sitting outside and watching people go by is an extra plus of watching the world go round you, whilst you enjoy your drink and "mezedes".

Oh, yes, (how did I forget this!), always keep checking the receipts they give you: they should: - a. Correspond to the date and time of your visit and order. If not, (see point c.) b. Check the sums before paying. c. If the receipts do not correspond, ask for new ones to be printed. d. At the Athens International Airport, whilst queueing at the passport control, there were leaflets handed out by the Greek Ministry of Tourism making you aware of receipts. in bars, tavernas etc. The leaflet and their corresponding posters, had a QR code to scan. Inside the place was nicely decorated with posters of old advertising of different products. The waiters were all really friendly and we they recommended some really tasty food. The zucchini balls (kolokithokeftedes)were the best ones I have ever eaten. The metsovone grilled cheese was yummy. Overall the food was so tasty I didn't even get to take...

Πρώτη φορά στη ζωή μου δίνω τόσα πολλά λεφτά για τόσο κακό μεζέ (ή πείτε το φαγητό). Ωραία ατμόσφαιρα, καλή εξυπηρέτηση, σε καλό σημείο αλλά…

Καταρχάς είναι πανάκριβο. Λες και τρως σε κυριλέ εστιατόριο. Πήραμε μπιφτέκια και τηγανιά χοιρινή. Τα μπιφτέκια ήταν στεγνά και τριβόντουσαν. Η τηγανιά ήταν σχετικά καλή αν και η σάλτσα (μουστάρδας;) κάλυπτε τα πάντα σε γεύση. Όλες οι μερίδες ήταν καλυμμένες τίγκα με πατάτες τηγανητές κι όλα ήταν κρύα ή χλιαρά. Μας έφεραν κι έναν μεζέ για αρχή, παγωμένο γύρω καλυμμένο με πατάτες, κατευθείαν από το ψυγείο! Τραγικό! Το χύμα κρασί ήταν χύμα επώνυμο. Με ανάλογη τιμή. Σε αυτήν την τιμή παίρνεις μπουκάλι επώνυμο κι όχι χύμα!

Τα παιδιά ήταν πάντως πολύ εξυπηρετικά κι ευγενικά, αυτό να λέγεται! Απ’ ότι καταλάβαμε, η πελατεία είναι φοιτητές που την βγάζουν με τον τζάμπα μεζέ και κάνα κρασί. Δώσαμε 60€ (!!!) για 2 πιάτα, 1 σαλάτα, 1kg κρασί, 1 ρακόμελο και 2 αναψυκτικά!!! Στην Αθήνα δεν θα δίναμε παραπάνω από 35€. Δεν αξίζει ούτε το 1 αστέρι που έβαλα ακόμα κι αν είναι στέκι...
