Food was lovely - service not so much! Staff left things off the order (toast) which they didn’t bring out AT ALL after 3 times of asking, for those that don’t know toast takes less than 2 minutes to wait and it wasn’t busy at all! The table next to us also had a 20 minute wait for sugar for their coffee. When we went up to the counter to ask about the toast/take it off the order as we’d already eaten our food the staff were VERY rude, I could hear the staff speaking to my father in law from 20 yards away saying this was a mistake. The guy behind the till came over and was telling us to relax as we’re on holiday - exactly! (There was no cross words to the staff just simply asked 3 times for the same thing) we were on a boat tour to the island so only had 1hr 30 and the order was eggs bacon and toast! Would also like to add there was 5+ staff and all hanging around in the restaurant area when the tables were waiting for the service - then took another 15 minutes to bring the bill, we could see him smirking behind the desk! I had an amazing dinner at Mills Restaurant in Vathy Bay, Ithaca, and I honestly can’t recommend it enough. What really surprised me was the beautiful garden tucked away behind the building — it felt like a secret little paradise, quiet and full of charm, perfect for a relaxing evening.

The setting is just stunning. You get this incredible view over the bay of Vathy, with the sea right in front of you and boats drifting by. It’s the kind of place where you just want to sit and soak it all in for hours.

Now, the food — absolutely fantastic. The fish was super fresh (probably caught that same day), and everything we tried had that homemade, authentic Greek flavor. From the grilled octopus to the stuffed vegetables, everything was full of taste and made with love.
