A staggering display of incompetence and hostility.

We had a confirmed reservation (booked four months ago) yet upon arrival, we were told we weren’t “in the system.” No apology. No effort to understand. Just an indifferent “too bad” and a clear message: you’re not our problem, so get out.

What followed was worse. The manager refused to even look at our confirmation. Flat out dismissed it. Instead of trying to fix the issue or offer alternatives within the resort, she escalated. Fast. She began raising her voice, which eventually became outright yelling (something even our child remarked on). This wasn’t tension. It was aggression.

When we calmly asked to speak to her manager, she said he was sick and unavailable. Fine. We then asked for the shift supervisor. She claimed it “wasn’t possible.” Not true, because someone did eventually show up. Whether it was someone from our group or internal staff who made it happen, we’ll never know. But the fact it took this long, under this much pressure, is telling.

In the end, we left and dined at Vosporos next door, where the staff were gracious, the service smooth, and the experience everything this place failed to deliver.

In a high-end resort setting, the baseline expectation isn’t just a functioning reservation system. It’s that staff know how to solve problems that inevitably occur with professionalism and basic respect. What we got was negligence followed by confrontation. Food was average, except the duck in the main courses which was really nice. The service, though, VERY poor, especially considering the other restaurants at sani. Unacceptable when the total for 4 plates and one glass of wine was above 150€. Better go at Lima or El Puerto at Porto, which have different cuisines but...
