Ola Kala — Restaurant in Lefkada Municipality

We went here 2 times. 2 totally different experiences.

First evening in Nidri we ate here, the food was good and tasty, the staff also friendly! Especially the bifteki tasted very good. We left happy and content.

Second time everything that went wrong did go wrong. We were 'forgotten' by the staff, our order did not come through well, the calamaria was almost cold and very chewy. They did offer another meal, but when staff never returned we decided to leave. The girl who was in charge apologized, did not charge us anything for the drinks etc we had even though we wanted to pay for it, so that was kind.

The owner did nothing but chat with all English customers (we are Dutch, he did not come to say hello). We also noticed that only some guests/tables got a drink from the house afterwards. Not the hospitality you see at some other restaurants...

Ola Kala is hands down one of the best dining experiences we had in Greece! The food is absolutely delicious—fresh, flavorful, and super satisfying—but what really sets this place apart is the incredible staff. The owner is an absolute legend—he’s got such a great sense of humor and made us laugh from the moment we walked in. You can tell he really loves what he does, and that energy spreads throughout the whole place. The service was warm and attentive, and they made us feel like we were eating with friends rather than just at a restaurant. It’s rare to find such a fun and inviting atmosphere, so we ended up staying longer than planned just enjoying the vibe. If you’re looking for great food and even better company, Ola Kala is the place to go!...

Possibly the worst taverna in Nidri. The good reviews are posted by family , friends, and the staff. The food is not worth giving to your dog. Kleftiko, which should be tender slow cooked lamb was chewy and topped with some sort of stringy cheese. CHEESE ON KLEFTIKO !!! Unheard of and disgusting. The curries have no substance, no body, no flavour. Mousavi was sliced from an old tray of leftovers. Basically, shockingly terrible food that is over-priced. Not to mention the unfriendly staff and the stubborn arrogance if the till girl who argued with her customers when they commented about the poor food quality. Absolutely NOT recommended.
