Duende — Restaurant in Lefkada Municipality

I will start by saying something nice, so this review doesn't completely ruin the reputation of this restaurant and the mood of the people who work there. The place itself is very cozy with a nice view, perfect for a cocktail, but maybe nothing else This so called "fine dining" restaurant is a disgrace to all that stands to be Greek food. I am very fond of the traditional Greek cuisine and I am a fan of reinterpretation of classic dishes, but this kind of reinterpretation was made with absolute lack of taste buds. Even the simple Greek salad, with which you cannot possibly go wrong, was completely inedible. I strongly advice you NOT to get the cannelloni, which, to my surprise didn't end up making me vomit from all the excessive use of nutmeg, and I also had a roulade with lobster, avocado and mayonnaise, which I also do not have any kind words to say about. However, if you DO still want to try to eat here, I would recommend the mushroom risotto as a safe dish. The service was also an aspect that didn't meet my needs. Personally, I felt overwhelmed by the waiters who kept changing and coming to our table every minute and overall I had the sensation of pretentiousness from this place, when it wasn't even needed, since the quality of the food is very bad in relation to the high prices. Lovely, well designed and beautiful place. It looks like they just recently opened. They look like honest and well hearted people. HOWEVER:

It was hard to get yourself understood in english when placing the order. They served me half of the 330 cl beer that I ordered and put the other half on a nearby table presumably to be served once I finish the first half? However this was taken away 5 min later and never seen again. Bizarre! We ordered three different dishes of pasta and they were all too salty to be eaten. You would expect more from a 20 euro dish. We shared the ice bucket for the water with the neighboring table and waiters kept using each others water for the wrong table! Various mistakes in final bill and questioning between themselves whether I did order or not the additional charged items…

I trust they were all well hearted and honest mistakes from people that seemed to be on training, however you would expect a minimum basic service and at least an edible food from a restaurant with such elevated prices.

Quite a bad experience for our last night in Lefkada!

We were a big group, some people liked the food some not. Personally; When I am in Greek island, I rather like eat real Greek food.

But I am negative about reataurant because of not the food but negative attitute of women waiter. We are in a holiday, we want to relax, and smile all the time. But her tone was so anoying and she almost rebuke couple of people in our group not ordering food in her way ???. In the end I asked her to behave nice!! And she didn’t even say sorry! I am writing in detail to let really polite restaurant manager to know that she needs to relax and chill.
