Roots Restaurant — Restaurant in Lefkada Municipality

Quite disappointing. The location is perfect but our food was just average. Shrimp Saganaki was very good as was the Giganas Beans. The chicken thigh was overcooked, extremely dry and not what I was expecting from the menu description. Perhaps some tasiki with it may have helped rather than the abundance of fries. The stuffed chicken breast was fine. We were feeding what appeared to be a stray cat with the prawn shell when the young waitress told us not to in a very loud and abrupt manner rather than being discreet. She was correct in what she was saying but not in her delivery or attitude. We felt like naughty children. We were then told to keep our cutlery even after fish and going onto eat chicken. It’s 2025 and Greece is in the EU ffs. Diners smoking was another issue. Not very pleasant when you have just been served your meal. Several guests holding video calls on their phone was extremely off putting. The on the house lemon desert was a nice gesture. However the card machine mysteriously and suddenly going out of service and being told by the same abrupt waitress to go to the ATM was a touch too much. Sorry guys it was far from an experience...

Wonderful food Mediterrian / Greek style.

Menu: starers : Greek salad and Moussaka. Main courses - red sanapper And tuna- both grilled. House wine was much better than average compared same style of places in Nidri.

Portions size are plentiful so its is possible survive also sharing one starter for two people etc.

We visited to this place twice and both time service quality and food quality was in highest Category (Nidri)

Actual Location on Google was bit wrong - place is on other side of road and some tabels are locateted at the beach. ( correction proposal sent to Google)

FYI current situation It is not restaurat fault but very near is some unfinished building / construction area, just small visual mistake at the moment. However view to the beach is still nice.

This small restaurant is located right next to the beach with a great view to the sea. The staff was very friendly, although I got a sense that the kitchen may have been understaffed. Despite this and the amount of guests, our food arrived in a very reasonable time, 15-20 minutes.

The salmon tasted great, the chicken breasts were really tender and the sauce was spot on.

The greek salad we had was delicious, although there was a lot of tomatoes in it, which is more of a critique from my fiance, but not so much from me (as I love tomatoes - but I do agree, a bit more other vegetables would've been nice).

Whatever complaints this place had received during the pandemic from locals, are completely null in my opinion. This place easily deserves 4 stars, but I am giving it a 5, since I genuinely believe that the average 3,6 rating (as of writing this review) is quite unfair, based on our experience...
