Stopped in Syvota for the day and decided on drinks and dinner at Stavros and had our best meal of the voyage.
First the seating up on the loft just can’t be beat. Amazing view of the whole harbor, plush seating, nice breeze, warm sun if desired, and away from the car traffic on the street below.
Cocktails were all great, espresso martini, Negroni, and slushy ‘ritas. But. The star of the round was the Barman Special, don’t pass it up.
Food started with some yummy apps, zucchini balls, ceviche, but the best was definitely the tuna tartar. Rich, flavorful, but also light. 10/10.
Salads continued to amaze us this trip. The Exotic Stavros salad and Green salad with fig were top contenders for week!
We had a large group so sampled a host of entrees. The giouvetsi, risotto with feta mousse, and beef ragu with pappardelle were all fantastic, but the hands-down winner was the grilled sea bass. Best fish of the trip. Still blown away how that much flavor could be packed...
Read more2:00 mid day meal: I thought it would be interesting to have something that was described as a lefkada salad: tomatoes, capers, olives, cheese & lentils—all good ingredients but this was just a large bowl of tasteless lentils. Where are the tomatoes? Greece is heavy with fresh tomatoes right now! There was also one olive sliced thin and maybe 2 capers. The server was the saddest person I’ve ever had wait on me, and of course I feel bad for him and whatever tragedy he was dealing with—he was very polite but he definitely wanted to be somewhere else. It would have been nice if he’d asked us how everything was or at least questioned us why I was leaving a full plate of food (lentils) when we left. The 2 stars are for the beautiful breeze & scenery that lured us there & I just didn’t have the heart to click one star when our poor waiter was obviously dealing with...
Read moreCocktails and waterside dining. Late afternoon we walked up the stairs to the cocktail bar at Stavros, pleasantly surprised to find that the drinks were at reduced prices until 7 pm. A good range of well-made and nicely presented cocktails, and large (500 ml) beers at €3.50.
Table by the water. Our table for 8 was ready at 7 pm, positioned next to the harbour, close to the pontoon, a great place for watching all the comings and goings around us. Our order was quickly taken and the food arrived quickly. Eight very happy diners. The seafood (sea bass, sea bream, prawns and swordfish) was excellent. Given we were moored here, the prices were excellent, along with the quality of the food, drinks and service. This visit to Syvota and Stavros has been a highlight of the...
