Ariadne Restaurant and Pizzeria — Restaurant in Municipality of Agios Nikolaos

We love pizza and have eaten it all over the world. My wife is a chef and we both agreed that Ariadne Restaurant served us with probably the best 🍕 pizza we have ever eaten. The hand spun and stretched pizza dough is produced with care and skill to produce an amazingly thin base, which when baked in the fired wood oven fuelled by local olive tree wood, gives the pizza an extra special taste.

We had the small (approx 12") Inferno & Versuvio (Vegetarian Hot) as we love our food on the spicey side. We also had a side of perfectly seasoned scalloped potato fries which we so tasty, washed down with the superb local beer.

The service from the Father (Pizza chef) and Daughter (our Server) is fantastic.

We highly recommend that if you are a pizza lover you try this place whilst in Crete. You will not be disappointed!

If I cud have given 0 stars wud have this was the worst meal I have had the misfortune to be presented with service slow unfriendly staff. The food starter was just edible but thought give it a chance my second course was truly awful the meat was so dry and over cooked took a bit and left almost full plate of food waitress came at the end of the meal just looked at me I tried to say something she took plates and brushed it off asked for bill she came with a complimentary small cheesecake affair this was ok again it tasted as if put together with little care or regard, the bill was expensive played left as no one bothered to even talk to me needless to say...

Great pizza's, freshly made in the wood oven. First waiter we had was great and very friendly. We were very hungry so we ordered more than what we could eat. It soon started to get busy with take away orders, so our waiter was busy delivering food elsewhere. So we ended up with an older waiter who wasn't really that friendly. He was too busy talking to the customers about himself and didn't even ask if our food was OK or if we wanted any more drinks. We gave him a tip none the less and he didn't even say thank you.
