Megaro is the first of a row of sea facing restaurants. We viewed most of these and returned to Megaro as we wanted a lighter lunch, and they had a balanced menu and prices that were far more reasonable than some of their neighbours. We were seated at a table overlooking the water, shaded and with a nice breeze. The host was charming and the food and drinks arrived in relatively good time. The water is pretty clear and I amused myself by throwing bits of bread to schools of mullet and other small fish that parade up and down. I had the grilled sardines, my wife the calamari, and we shared a Greek salad. One soft drink, one glass of wine and a,bottle of water. The sardines were delicious, and a generous portion over a bed of cherry tomatoes. The calamari was hot and perfectly cooked in a light batter. I had the tiramisu and an espresso to finish; my only complaint would be that the tiramisu needs an extra dash of booze to balance the delicious creaminess. Serivce was attentive without hovering, and we weren't hassled to leave. It was a lovely, lazy lunch. Highly recommended.

Passed by this restaurant every day and always looked busy in the evening around 8/8.30pm onwards. The staff were very friendly and polite. They all speak excellent English. We had a nice table by the seafront. We ordered two drinks, two appetisers, and two mains. As expected, most of the options are seafood. There are some items that are marked as frozen, I presume that in some of the dishes the meat or fish is frozen. The margherita pizza is from frozen, it tasted okay. We were given complimentary fruit at the end of the meal and two bits of cake, which was really tasty. You can pay by card as well as cash. They are open in the day time. There were quite a few children eating there, too, so it is family friendly. Some of the food seems quite pricey but it is seafood so probably expected. Our total came to €50 for halloumi, garlic bread, margherita pizza, beef burger, a coca cola and a peach iced tea.

We ate here twice on a recent visit to Elounda. The best part of this restaurant is by far the staff, they spoke to us even when just walking past! Our little 9month old girl was made a fuss of at every opportunity and it was just a great experience when travelling with a baby! The steak was exceptional on the first night and the lobster risotto on the second night was the best food we’ve had! Plenty of lobster!! We can’t wait to one day return and dine here again! It’s right on the sea front too, so beautiful views! Thank you so much!
