Blue Sea Cretan Cuisine & Seafood — Restaurant in Municipality of Agios Nikolaos

Elounda is a magical place and BlueSea restaurant is situated right in the heart of the most picturesque Elounda gulf. One can visit the historical area of the schisma on foot as it is located in close distance from the restaurant.

The dinning area is a “platform” that extends into the water surrounding you with the blue sea!

We visited the restaurant on a Sunday noon. The place was busy but still not noisy keeping the tranquility at all times.

In a restaurant of this kind, going for seafood is a must. We tried a few dishes but I wish I could try more.

The seafood spaghetti was well worth it, packed with flavor from a thick shrimp busk and fresh seashells.

The fried calamari was soft and tender and the grilled octopus was perfectly matched with a cauliflower velute soup, a combination I had never tried before.

My daughter had a traditional Greek cuisine dish, rooster with red wine sauce and pasta, topped with grated local cheese. Despite the dish being generous, she managed the whole thing by herself noting that it was delicious.

First restaurant we tried in Elounda and it set the bar high. Mikaeles is a GEM. You'll see him wave at EVERY car, such a beautiful human. We were 13 and hungry. Mikaeles did not hesitate. He set a table for all of us and walked us through the menu with such energy! The food is TOP quality. Sea food or meat, you'll be pleased. No one took the same plate and EVERYTHING was good! Mikaeles brought us drinks and fruits at the end, on the house. The bill then came and we could not believe it was that low! What a bargain for the level of quality we had, sea front on top of it!

Mikaeles then gave us a few suggestions of visits for our next day in Elounda and told us about his sister restaurant in Agios Nikolaos (which we ate at and it was as amazing). It shows the restaurant business runs in the family and the family does it well.
