Manos Pool Bar Elounda — Restaurant in Municipality of Agios Nikolaos

Not a welcoming bar, the evening manager was rude, aggressive at times and narcissistic. Constantly playing overloud music and shutting the bar early to suit his social life. Several times he accused, openly and loudly guests of not paying a tab or returning glasses from their room. These guests didn't have tabs and had returned glasses. He was always on his phone, wearing his hood up and had very little hospitality skills. The bar area is not set up to encourage social interaction, just a long bar, tables further away in a separate area. Also not stocked enough, constantly running out of basics, wine beer etc. I understand that the season is coming to an end in October but guests were still arriving. Here are the positives. The day time lady manager was welcoming and genuinely interested in taking time to know guests. She was professional and a great cook. Bar snacks are basic but good quality and breakfast was served with a smile and a lovely view over the sea in the front seating area. Her husband also provided us with a fab boat trip. The bar was clean and accessible, a little too loud music. We used it during the day but avoided it in the evening. Such a shame as we always like a walk out and return to our accommodation bar. We stayed 11 nights early May and initially very few residents hence lack of atmosphere. We didn't eat at the bar other than 1 x breakfast. Good selection of bottled beers & cider but nothing 'on tap' during our stay. Fantastic location, across the road from a stony beach and 5 mins level walk to town / harbour / sandy beach but just outside town so very quiet. Lovely pool with plenty of modern sunbeds and great elevated seating area overlooking the sea.

Our apartment was disappointing, very dated with tiny shower cubicle (curtain of course) in a large bathroom.

2 x very small balconies - when we arrived the outdoor table was on one balcony, a chair on the other & 2nd chair in kitchen. Very tight squeeze for 2 on the balcony & no means to pin the louvres back so they bang in the breeze.

Beds comfortable & plenty of storage in bedroom. Good fridge (didn't use the rings). Plenty of hot water.

Housekeeping a bit odd, bins emptied alternate days & new towels left but old...

The Manos bar and pool is lovely, its so clean, the staff are kind and really welcoming. We didn't stay here but were at a hotel without a pool so went to this place numerous times. The food was really good value for money and big portions. All the staff were lovely. The whole complex of apartments looked well looked after and it was all so clean. Would highly recommend this place and I will definitely stay there next time. Well...
