This is an excellent seaside tavern with fresh fish and good service. The portions are large and we ordered way too much for lunch, but we enjoyed everything. The view is exceptional. It started a little windy so we ate within the enclosed patio, which they opened up when the sun came out. The owner recommended the sea bream grilled with a lemon and olive oil. It was a wonderful, mild fish with a somewhat meaty texture. It was lightly seasoned to let the taste of the fish be the focus of the dish. The fried sardines were plentiful and served like a side of French fries. Lightly breaded, and stronger in flavor. Fried cheese was creamy with a soft cheese similar to burrata. A good bread basket, which you can decline ($€1.50 per person). A nice Greek salad with local feta. We also ate local Cretan Dakos, tomato and cheese on barley bread. After the meal they brought traditional orange cake, soaked in honey, and fresh fruit. Everyone was helpful and attentive. This is a great choice if you are in Plaka. Read moreI ordered the spaghetti bolognese and it was ok. I had like one bite but it wasn't worth eating so I had some of my brothers chicken fillet which was fabulous. When they came to clear the table the waiter asked why my plate was full. I told him it just wasn't what I was used to: He asked what the restaurant could do to improve on with that dish.
He offered me another meal but I declined because it was too generous. Before we got the bill I left early with my brother to get ice cream. This was a mistake, they came back with a fruit platter and some fried dough in confectioners sugar because they felt bad. I was mad I missed it and this shows how nice they are. I give it a five star and recommend this...
