During our recent visit to Ta Kymata in Plaka, we were impressed by the overall experience, especially the exceptional service provided by the staff.
As we only eat kosher food, we informed the host upon arrival. They were very accommodating and assured us that the necessary adjustments could be made to meet our dietary requirements. Despite the chef's best efforts, the fish we ordered was not prepared in a way that met our expectations, and we ultimately could not eat it.
However, the owner of the restaurant was very understanding and did not charge us for the fish. The attentiveness and willingness of the staff to assist and ensure we had a pleasant experience left a very positive impression on us.
Overall, while there was a hiccup with the food, the outstanding service and hospitality we received at Ta Kymata make us recommend this place to others. We left feeling satisfied and grateful for the effort they put in to accommodate our needs.
Thank you, Ta Kymata, for your excellent...
Read moreThis restaurant is within easy walking distance from the Blue Palace Resort. It’s worth the walk. The waiters are excellent and they ordered-up for us a nice selection of appetizers and main-courses (three different fish). All were outstanding. As one waiter said: “If you want to know if the Calamari is fresh at a restaurant, order it grilled.” We had it grilled and it was fantastic. The Octopus was also grilled and also very tender. Everything we had that night was great.
Crete, in general, has outstanding food: fish, meats, cheeses, and (AND) fruits and vegetables. It was early June, and there was already the first tomatoes, eggplants and zucchinis. And (AND) a huge variety of Feta: hard, soft, mild, strong all good.
We were here on 1-June-2021 and 3-June-2021. The 1st night was with four people we met at the Blue Palace Resort. A woman and her daughter from Miami and a couple from the Atlanta area; all suffering from travel withdrawal. The 2nd night...
Read moreGreat location with fabulous views of Spinalonga. On our first visit we only planned to have drinks as we were not very hungry, but decided to have a few starters Fried feta in honey, stuffed vine leaves, Tzatziki and pita and a Greek salad followed by the most amazing orange cake. All were delicious and reasonably priced. Our second visit I had the fried feta and a chicken salad and my husband had stifado. All portions have been plentiful and filling without being overwhelming. That said, the chicken salad was huge but delicious meals again. Both occasions the restaurant was very clean and tidy, the staff welcoming and friendly without being pushy or overattentive. Service was excellent. Highly...
